Year 2: Post 33: Kisses, Lexie Wright

Hey my Queendalers! If you guessed “summer”, you guessed right! Summer is official here my friends! Sun, heat and more! I can’t think of a fitting way to end my blog and for a treat, I have a long post for you!

Screenshot-3329 (2)

So to start things off, the summer festival is back in town! The two Henderson sisters were spotted there Thursday, having some summer fun.

Screenshot-3342 (2)

Maria initiated a water balloon fight, and soon the two sisters were tossing balloons back and forth. What an arm that Maria has! Josephina was losing badly, being pummeled with them. Maria definitely should have considered doing softball.

Screenshot-3351 (2)

But soon Josephina was holding her own! After a few minutes, Josephina started tossing some back and managed to hit Maria with quite a few. Go Josephina!

Screenshot-3355 (2)

They both then took a break and decided to whirl around the roller-skating ring. I have to say, I love the skates for the rink! They are the old school four wheelers; totally retro! The Henderson sisters were totally rocking them with style!

Screenshot-3368 (2)

Later that afternoon, they started playing a game of soccer and I was amazed by Maria’s skill of being a goalie. She caught every ball Josephina kicked to her, even leaping on the floor to intercept one that almost went out of bounds. Very impressive! I can’t help but wonder why she never tried out for sports. She could have given some of the guys a run for their money.

Screenshot-3374 (2)

Josephina on the other hand, not so much. Though she did make a gallant effort trying to imitate her sister’s dives to catch the ball. Keep trying Josephina!

After the game, the girls headed home and Maria celebrated a glorious victory. Show off!

Screenshot-2813 (3)

Friday afternoon, I spotted Adam, Paul, Evanglina, Emilie, Maria and Kara heading off to the movies. There is a new action flick called “Infinity,” that is out and it seems to be all the rave. I hear it is supposed to be a trilogy taking place 100 years into the future. I’m not really that into Syfi’s but this movie just might change my mind!

Screenshot-2820 (3)

After the flick had finished, they all headed over to the Flyhouse Coffeehouse for a late-night dinner. That restaurant has the most amazing burgers. I haven’t been there in almost three months and am having total withdrawal. I need one pronto.

Screenshot-2821 (3)

While there, Evanglina and Kara decided to have a little fun strumming on their guitars. Maria joined in soon after and soon Evarie was having another performance with Kara included. Could their band now be becoming Evariera?

Screenshot-2911 (3)

Later after leaving the Flyhouse Coffeehouse, Maria headed over to the beach to meet up with Josephina. She then slipped into her bathing suit and she and Josephina started up the fire pit and took seats at it. Josephina immediately started roasting marshmallows. You could tell Adam had wanted to talk to her before she left, but Maria managed to sneak away without him seeing her.

Screenshot-2916 (3)

Maria joined in too and soon the both of them were munching on marshmallows.

“So,” Josephina said then, “you excited for the visit to San Marino?”

Maria shrugged. “I guess. It has been a while since we’ve gone. Will be nice to see grandma and grandpa again.”

“You said it.” Josephina took another bite. “I’ll bet they will be psyched to hear about you going to Bridgeport.”

“And yours to NYU. I’m so proud of you. You know, I’ll only be a couple hours away from you.” Ah! Looks like Maria has made her school decision!

“Hey, I may be a year younger, but I’m not a little kid.”

Screenshot-2920 (2)

Maria laughed. “I don’t think you are. I just meant that if you ever want to hang out or need someone to talk to, I’m there.”

Josephina smiled. “Same here.” She then sighed. “Will be nice to get away, huh?”

“Totally. I could use a break.”

“A break from Adam?” When Maria got quiet, Josephina gave her a look. “I know you’ve been avoiding him.”

“I have not.”

“Yes, you have.”

Screenshot-2917 (3)

“Maria, Adam has been hounding everybody else because he wants so badly to talk to you! Now, I’m not saying you should forgive him for the thing with Charlotte, but I do think you should talk to him.”

Maria bit her lip. “I know, I know. It’s just, whenever I talk to him, I just forget everything when he gives me that look.”

Screenshot-2921 (2)

Josephina frowned. “What look?”

“That look a guy gives you when he…I don’t know…wants you so badly? I can just feel it.”

“But, isn’t that a good thing?”

Maria shrugged again. “It should be. It really should be, but it’s just…I don’t know.”

“Whatever the case, you need to talk to him, Maria. Even if just for your sake. It will give you closure.”

Maria nodded and then rose from her chair. “When you’re right, your right,” she said, and then she walked down the sand, with Josephina following close behind.

Screenshot-2831 (3)

And she does. The next evening, she called up Adam and asked him to meet her at the beach.

She was there for almost twenty minutes before Adam finally showed up. You could hear the sound of the seagulls crying overhead and the waves lapping upon the shore.

Screenshot-2833 (3)

Even when Adam approached her, Maria stood in silence for a minute before actually speaking to him. She must have been rehearsing words in her head.

Screenshot-2838 (3)

Thanks for coming, Adam,” she said.

Adam nodded. “Of course.”

“I’m sorry that I haven’t talked to you until now. I guess I’ve just been trying to figure out what to say. So much has happened.”

“I know, and I know it’s because of me. I made a mistake, Maria, and I know that I have to make it right. I just want you to give me a chance to.”

Screenshot-2839 (3)

“I know you want to Adam, but it’s just not that simple.”

“But it can be if you just-”

“Adam, please! Just listen, okay?”

After she said this, Adam got quiet. Maria then took a deep breath.

“I’ve been juggling my feelings ever since this whole thing started. I can’t tell you how confused I’ve been. I want so badly to forgive you, but I’m still so angry about what happened.” She then paused for a moment. “Adam, when I saw you and Charlotte in that bathroom, it broke my heart. I can’t tell you how much it hurt, and I’ve been trying ever since to forget it.”

“The problem is, I can’t. I still see the two of you in my head and sometimes I wonder if there were other times that it could have happened-”

“Maria,” Adam interrupted, “it was only that one time.”

“My head knows that, but my heart still doesn’t.” Maria sighed. “Adam…I-I just don’t trust you, and I can’t be with someone I don’t trust.”

Screenshot-2844 (3)

Adam took Maria’s hands into his. “What can I do to change that?”

“I don’t think there is anything you can do. At least not right now. I have to figure out how to trust you again, and that isn’t going to happen overnight or anytime soon.”

Adam nodded. “I understand, but I still want to do something. I miss being with you.”

Maria gave his hands a squeeze. Her eyes looked like they were beginning to water. “I know, and I miss you too, but honestly, I don’t think I’m ready to be in a relationship with anyone. I need time to figure things out. To figure myself out, and maybe learn to trust you again.”

Screenshot-2846 (3)

Adam let her hand go. “I can try to do that for you.”

“Thank you.”

“Josephina told me that you got accepted into Bridgeport U and Cleveland University. Congratulations. You decided on which one?”

“I think I’m going to choose Bridgeport. They have an amazing music program.” Maria gave Adam a playful shove. “What about you? I heard you got into Duke, which is pretty amazing.”

Adam shrugged. “I guess. I did get into Bridgeport too, though.”

“I know, but Duke is a big deal. You’ve been wanting to go there since forever. I think you should really consider it.”

“Maybe.”

They both then got quiet.

“I should go. My mom, Josephina and I have a flight out to San Mario tomorrow.”

Adam looked surprised. “Really? How long will you be gone?”

“I’m not sure, but probably most of the summer.”

Screenshot-2847 (3)

They both then stood in silence and for a moment I thought that Maria was about to leave, when Adam pulled her into a hug.

“I’m going to miss you,” he said.

Maria hugged him back. “I’ll miss you too.”

They both then stood in silence and for a moment I thought that Maria was about to leave, when Adam pulled her into a hug.

“I’m going to miss you,” he said.

Maria hugged him back. “I’ll miss you too.”

Screenshot-2853 (3)

Then before she could stop him, Adam leaned down and kissed her! Maria tried to resist by pushing him away, but within seconds she caved and started kissing him back! I’m totally serious! They both then started making out fiercely, almost hungry, like they hadn’t before!

Screenshot-2854 (3)

Maria then finally pulled away from him a little.

“Adam,” she said, her voice was barely a whisper and completely breathless, “we should stop.”

“But I don’t want to stop,” he said back, and then he kissed her again.

Screenshot-2852 (3)

They both then started kissing again with the same force and speed as before, and I must tell you, if they had been anywhere else but here, I just know it could have possibly turned into something else. And I know you know what I mean. With the way they were kissing and pulling at each other with such, well, passion, it was a wonder to me that it wasn’t already happening. After all, the beach was pretty peaceful and there wasn’t a single person in sight…(well, almost no one)

Screenshot-2851 (3)

But alas, Maria pulled away once again.

“Adam, we can’t,” she said.

“Maria please-”

“No, we can’t.”

“Maria, I love-”

“Don’t. Please don’t say it.”

“I love you-”

“Stop.”

Maria sounded like she was on the verge of tears. “Just stop, please. I can’t.”

Screenshot-2856 (3)

She then took off down the beach, leaving Adam by the shore. Though she may not want to admit it, she wasn’t over Adam. Not by a long shot.

Screenshot-3429 (2)

Last but not least, Evanglina and Henria finally had the talk that Ricky had been pushing her to have with her.

Sunday afternoon, I spotted Henria making her way over to the Emersons house. She looked incredibly nervous, as she should be.

I should point out that she and Jake have hit a major road bump. It would appear that one of his drug shipments was busted and unlucky for him, Jake happened to be around the scene. So now he is in the station being questioned and the police are not about to let him out anytime soon. Will that help with her conversation with Evanglina? I guess you will have to read on to find out!

Screenshot-3431 (2)

After a few knocks on the door and ringing the doorbell twice, the front door opened and out came Evanglina. She looked very calm, almost like she had been practicing beforehand.

Screenshot-3432 (2)

Henria greeted her quickly and Evanglina did the same. You could tell that Henria wanted desperately to hug her, but it was obvious that Evanglina was not going to allow it.

“So, h-how have you been doing?” Henria asked.

“Fine.” said Evanglina. “Very good actually.”

“I-I hear you got into Bridgeport U. That’s wonderful.”

“Thank you.”

The conversation started out very bland, so I had no idea where it was going.

Screenshot-3440 (2)

“I-I’ve been doing better too,” Henria then said. “I’ve been seeing someone to help me with some problems I have. It’s been helping a lot.”

Evanglina nodded. “That’s great.”

“Also, Jake is no longer living in the house.”

“I know. I heard on the news that he was involved with some illegal drug shipments.”

“It’s true.” Henria lifted her hands up. “I couldn’t believe it. You were right about him. I never thought he was capable of those things. At least he’s out of my life now.”

Evanglina nodded again. “That’s good for you.”

“Yes, it is.”

Screenshot-3442 (2)

“So,” Henria perked up a little, “I was thinking that maybe if you came back with me, we could talk things over and get back to where we-”

“Whoa, whoa,” Evanglina shook her head, “what do you mean “come back with you? I’m not coming back with you.”

Henria looked surprised. “You’re not?”

“No, of course not! What made you think that?”

“Well you called and asked me to come over, so I thought that meant you wanted to-”

“No, it doesn’t,” Evanglina interrupted. “I called you here because I wanted to talk to you. Just talk. I have no intention of going back to live with you.”

Screenshot-3457 (2)

“I didn’t keep you from him! He walked out on us!”

Evanglina frowned. “How could he have walked out on us? He didn’t even know I existed!”

Henria rolled her eyes. “You just don’t get it.”

“What I get is, you were mad at Ricky because he left you for Auntie Sarah and when you found out you were pregnant with me, you kept me from him to punish him!”

“Oh really?” Henria looked furious. “Did your precious Auntie Sarah tell you that?”

“No, it’s obvious! You’ve never once even apologized to him or to me from keeping us from each other!”

“Because we didn’t need him!”

“I did!”

Screenshot-3459 (2)

Henria looked a bit taken aback when she said that, giving Evanglina a chance to talk.

“I always used to somehow feel empty without a dad around. I wanted someone else I could depend on. You say I had you, but I really didn’t! You spent all your time working at those bars and dropping me off at friend’s houses or leaving me home with your boyfriends. Some of them were total creeps and made passes at me, but whenever I told you, you never believed me. It was only when you moved in with Auntie Sarah, that I finally felt like I had a mom. She was always there when I needed her and she supported me. That’s why I was so mad when you threw her out.” Evanglina paused to take a breath. “Then when she and Kara left, you became worse. You let Jake become more of a part of our lives! A man that was involved with illegal drug shipments! You let him into our lives!” Evanglina then clenched her fists. “He was beating me, insulting me and threating me, but whenever I told you about it, you said I was lying!”

“Evanglina-”

“I had bruises mom!” Evanglina shouts. “I had bruises, but you still didn’t believe me. You stood there and watched him beat me up in front of you, and you did nothing to help me! You just watched as he hit me over and over again, and then you let him drag me up those stairs and lock me in my room for almost a whole week!”

Screenshot-3462 (2)

Henria just stood looking at her completely dumbfounded. “I-I um, I don’t know what to say.” Seriously, what could she have said? Everything Evanglina said was true! What excuse could she have possibly given? Nothing!

“There is nothing you can say,” Evanglina then remarked. “It’s what you did, and I hate you for it. I am filled with so much anger towards you right now. That’s why I can’t come home with you.”

“Evanglina,” Henria’s voice sounded weak, “I miss you.”

Evanglina took a deep breath. “Well, I’m sorry, but I’m staying with Ricky. We’ve lost so much time together because of everything and I think this is where I need to be right now. I’m glad that you’re seeing someone who is helping you and that you’ve finally let Jake leave, but I’m staying here. I’m sorry.”

Screenshot-3466 (2)

“Goodbye mother,” Evanglina then said, and she walked back up the pathway to the front door.

Screenshot-3468 (2)

Henria just stood staring after her in silence. I think she finally understood what Evanglina has been going through. As much as I think she is the worst mother ever, I think there may be some hope for her yet. If the look of regret and remorse on her face was any indication. Maybe through her “help” she will become a better mother to Evanglina. Only time will tell.

Screenshot-3317 (2)

Unfortunately, it will not be Lexie who will be figuring that out for you, being my last post and all. I still can’t believe that this is my final one. It feels like just yesterday I was introducing myself and beginning my first post. Now two years later, I am writing my final one and it feels so strange.

I hope that you have enjoyed all my news and juicy gossip about Queendale. It’s strange how many secrets are hidden behind closed doors. The Maxwells, the Richmonds, the Nelsons, the Hendersons, and even the Marsens. So many secrets that one would never guess was there.

Screenshot-3391 (2)

Also, thank you to all my readers for keeping my blog and identity a secret. I still question myself all the time about how this blog was never discovered by those that I wrote about. You Queendalers are very loyal followers, but alas, I must take my leave and set down my pen. Shall another decide to retrieve it and start again, please do so. Be my guest, for Lexie Wright is now moving onto new things and must leave Queendale behind.

Screenshot-3392 (2)

Thank you all again for being great followers and I hope to one day be able to write for you all again in one way or another. So goodbye my dearies and remember this,

“Always fear the quiet ones. Their mouths may be silent, but their minds talk miles a minute!”

Kisses,

Year 2: Post 32: And Life Goes On

Hey Queendalers! So if you guessed “Hawks” you guessed right! I couldn’t resist using our loveable mascot as a code word! Next week’s code will be a pretty easy one as well, in honor of it being my final post. But we will get to that later. Onto the post!

Screenshot-3471 (2)

So since Sarah and Ricky rescued Evanglina from Jake and Henria, Ricky has been spending a lot of time with her. It’s almost as if they are trying to make up for eighteen lost years in just a month! I spotted them Thursday afternoon hanging out at McDoogles. They had a nice lunch of burgers and fries and then played some of the arcade games.

Screenshot-3479 (2)

I even caught them playing a game of foosball at one of the tables in the back. Man, it has been so long since I have played that game. I used to love playing it as a kid.

Anyways, Evanglina and Ricky seemed to be having a good time laughing away. That is until he brought up a certain subject,

“So, have you heard from your mother lately?”

That seemed to kill the mood right there.

Evanglina stared down at the foosball table without even looking up.

“Yes. She has called my cellphone a few times. Auntie Sarah also said she called the house a bunch of times this week.”

Screenshot-3481 (2)

“And?” Ricky asked.

Evanglina shrugged. “And nothing. She called and I haven’t spoken to her.”

They are quiet for a few minutes.

“But, don’t you think you should?” Ricky asked.

Evanglina then let go of the table. “No I don’t,” she said, a bit too loudly, causing people to stare. She then turned and walked out the door with Ricky following behind her.

Screenshot-3486 (2)

Then they seated themselves on a bench at the McDoogle playground.

Evanglina sighed. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have snapped like that.”

Ricky smiled. “It’s okay. I understand. I shouldn’t have pushed you. I guess I just wanted to know how you were feeling. This whole situation is-”

“Crazy,” Evanglina finished. She then exhaled sharply. “I just wish she had been honest with all of us a long time ago. Then things wouldn’t be like this. I’m just so confused and I don’t know how to feel.”

“She is still your mother though, Evanglina. You need to talk to her eventually.”

Screenshot-3485 (2)

“See, that’s what I don’t get,” Evanglina then said, shaking her head. “My mother lied to you. She lied to you! She didn’t tell you that you were my father and hid it for eighteen years, and she was going to keep hiding it if Aunt Sarah didn’t find out the truth. Why aren’t you angry with her? How can you just forgive her and want me to talk to her?”

Ricky looked at Evanglina quietly for a minute and then sighed. “I am angry, Evanglina, very, but it won’t change anything. What happened, happened and as much as I hate it, I may have been part to blame for why she lied in the first place.”

“Because of you and Aunt Sarah?”

Screenshot-3488 (2)

“Yes, that. I didn’t deal with the situation very well; neither of us did, and we really hurt your mother in the process. I’m not saying all this was okay, but I do see where she might have been coming from. I think she has been carrying what happened between us for all these years.”

Evanglina lifted her shoulders. “Fine. Maybe you’re right. But what about Jake? Ever since she started dating him, she has been all about him and never about me.”

Isn’t that the truth.

“She has taken his word over mine so many times that I have lost count! Every time I tried to tell her about something that he did to me, she would never believe me! Every time he slapped me, cursed at me or even threatened me, she never listened. He even beat me up in front of her twice and she just watched!” Evanglina shook her head. “All that I have gone through because of her, I can’t forgive.”

Wow. If you had ever wondered how Evanglina was feeling about everything, there you have it in a nutshell.

Meanwhile, Ricky just watched her quietly, taking in every word Evanglina said. He then exhaled deeply before opening his mouth to speak again.

“It always amazes me when you talk about it. It makes me so angry that you had to go through all that. I wish I could have been there for you.”

Screenshot-3494 (2)

Evanglina’s face seemed to soften when he said that. “You are now. Just don’t defend her to me.”

“I’m not trying to defend her. I’m not even asking you to forgive her. I just think you should talk to her. Maybe she wouldn’t be hounding you so much if you told her what you just told me.”

Evanglina stared at him for a moment in silence and then nodded. “Maybe you’re right,” she said. “I just don’t know if I am ready to.”

“You don’t have to do it right now, but I think you should eventually. It might help you move on as well.”

Screenshot-3501 (2)

After that they both rose from the bench and Evanglina gave him a hug.

“Hang in there,” he said to her. “Things will work out. You’ll see.”

Evanglina grinned and looking happier than I have ever seen her. “Thanks…dad.”

Ricky then gave her a look of surprise, quickly turning into a wide smile.

A moving moment for sure!

Screenshot-3512 (2)

After leaving McDoogles, they both head to the beach and skip some stones into the ocean. Ricky has a long arm and is able to get his stone to skip several times before it drops underwater. I have tried to do that so many times, but I can only get mine to skip twice.

Screenshot-3518 (2)

They then take a dip in the ocean, splashing around in the water. The sky starts to darken, but they both didn’t seem to care. I can’t help but feel happy for her. Evanglina finally has the family she has always wanted.

Screenshot-2859 (3)

In other news, Claude and Emilie have been spending a lot of time together. I have been seeing an awful lot of them around town. I guess with him leaving, Emilie wanted to get as much time with him as possible. The day before he left, I saw them hanging together at Marcelle Park.

Screenshot-2870 (3)

It was a nice summer day, and I saw them heading to the gazebo facing the lake. Somewhere from nearby, you could even hear music playing softly.

Screenshot-2878 (3)

They both then took a seat on one of the benches and cuddled together. Boy did the two of them look adorable!

Screenshot-2879 (3)

They stay like that for almost thirty minutes and even shared a few passionate kisses before leaving. I think it helped that the park happened to be empty that day. Not that I think either of them would have cared all that much.

Screenshot-2883 (3)

I then saw them later in the evening downtown, coming out of the movie theater. They were all smiles and laughing, making me assume that maybe they saw some romantic comedy.

Screenshot-2892 (3)

It was after that that he dropped her off at home and they had their final farewells. I could tell that Emilie was having a hard time.

“So, when is your flight tomorrow?” she asked.

“About seven in the morning.”

Emilie pulled him toward her. “I wish I could see you off,” she said.

Claude smiled. “Me too, but I don’t know how Claire would react to that.”

“Good point.” She stroked his cheek with her hand. “I’m really going to miss you.”

Screenshot-2893 (3)

Claude gave her a quick peck on her lips. “I’m going to miss you too,” he said. “Terribly.”

“You promise to write?”

“Of course, and I hope to hear back from you.”

“Even in the fall?”

Claude grinned. “Especially then. I want to hear all about how things are at Columbia. I’m so happy you got accepted. I know how much you wanted to go there.”

Emilie’s cheeks reddened. “Thanks, and I am happy for you for getting into the University of Cambridge. I want to hear all about that too.”

Screenshot-2895 (3)

They then pull in for a kiss and spend the next few minutes doing so in the warm summer breeze. They seem almost lost in each other and I am starting to feel like a hidden third wheel. Not that I haven’t felt this way many times before.

Screenshot-2899 (3)

They then share an embrace; one they hold for quite a while.

“You know, if you ever decide to study abroad, England would be a great destination.”

Emilie laughed. “I will definitely keep that in mind. I promise.”

Screenshot-2902 (3)

Then with a final hug and kiss, Claude took off, leaving Emilie standing in front of the gate watching after him. My heart breaks for her. I can’t imagine gaining my first boyfriend and then having him leave me to return home. Another reason why I don’t do long distance.

Anyways, I guess we are all left to wonder if the two of them will really stay in touch. For Emilie’s sake, I hope so.

So that makes the end of this week’s posts. I can’t believe it, but next week will be my last post as Lexie. It’s crazy how time flies. That said, keep up with your guesses, because in just a week you may just know who Lexie really is.

Kisses,

Year 2: Post 31: Graduation! Pomp & Circumstance!

Hey my Queendalers! If you guessed the code word “fight,” you guessed right! I hope you Queendale High students knew that one because if you didn’t, you need to get some school spirit! Anyways, I am so sorry that I haven’t posted in a month. Things have been so crazy with school ending and graduation that Lexie has not had time to write; but fear not! Lexie is back and has some juice to share about graduation and grad night!

Screenshot-2695 (3)

So as I said earlier, the night of graduation has finally arrived!  In the early evening of the wondrous day, I spotted Evanglina and Kara leaving the house to go to the City Hall auditorium. It is crazy how much people can change in a month. It feels like everyone has already matured into adults!

Screenshot-2697 (3)

I thought this as I reached the city hall and saw Maria Henderson arriving in her cap and gown. She looked absolutely beautiful as she walked up the steps, just like a young woman. Time really goes by, doesn’t it?

Screenshot-2700 (3)

After Maria had arrived with Josephina and her parents and went inside, more students started arriving. I happened to notice Angel as she passed by and entered the building. Her hair was tucked neatly into her cap which is the first time I have really seen her face, clearly. Is it rude for me to say she looks older than I thought she did?

Screenshot-2701 (3)

I saw Claire and Adam arrive together with Claire in a snow-white dress. I was a bit confused, but then I heard that Claire had accidently misplaced her graduation gown! Awkward! She was going to have to walk onstage dressed out of uniform. I guess her mother had tried to make her feel better by letting her borrow one of her formal dresses, but honestly, I think it just makes it more obvious that she forgot her cap and gown.

Screenshot-2708 (3)

The ceremony itself, went very well. There were choir and orchestra performances and then the valedictorian, Emilie Nelson, said a few words. I was not surprised it was her, for she was the most studious student in the whole school. She even founded the Pre-Med club, something that has not been done before around here. Senior Class president was originally Abigail Best, but since she was still gone, the task was given to Claire. I do have to say it was awkward with her dressed in that white dress.

I was surprised, but Claire gave a surprisingly good speech. Not as good as Emilie’s, but not bad. By the time the ceremony was over, all the seniors were pretty pumped.

As Evanglina came out of the building, she threw her diploma in the air and cheered. Sadly, her mother was nowhere to be seen, not that I think she was missing her too much.

Screenshot-2712 (3)

I also spotted Derek and Adam coming out through the doors together with him twirling his diploma in his hand. I swear he grew an inch or two from May till now! Adam too!

Screenshot-2716 (3)

A few minutes later, I saw Derek standing with Evanglina (surprise, surprise). They shared a warm embrace and kiss, as they stood there together. I’m sure Angel and Claire were not too happy about it. They have been giving her the cold shoulder all night!

Screenshot-2722 (3)

I then saw Kara standing not too far off tossing her diploma as well. Ricky was standing nearby smiling along with Sarah. It sure is nice to see them all looking so happy after the whole thing with Jake and Henria. And was it just me, or does Sarah’s stomach look a little bigger than usual? Could she possibly be eating for two? Time will tell!

Screenshot-2726 (3)

I also saw Emilie coming out of city hall as well. She was grinning from ear to ear and carrying her diploma. She looked extremely proud of herself, which I think was totally well deserved. Those last words of her speech, “No matter where we go or live or what we become, we will always be Queendale Hawks at heart,” really resonated with me, and by the way everyone was cheering, it resonated with them too.

Screenshot-2735 (3)

It was starting to get a bit crowded in front, until people started dispersing. Then through the crowd, I saw Maria chatting with David Maxwell! I thought it was a bit awkward, but from what I heard, he was congratulating her and wishing her well. Something tells me that he has been talking to Adam lately. I also saw Angel watching them from the corner of her eye. I’m telling you, if that girl could rid the world of Maria and Evanglina…

Screenshot-2732 (3)

A while later I spotted Claire finally emerge from the city hall doors, yes, still in her white ball gown. I am surprised that she didn’t get grief about it. The principle is pretty stringent about those kinds of things. Then again, the Maxwells have donated a lot of money to the school, so maybe the principle decided to look the other way.

Screenshot-2741 (3)

Thirty minutes later, the crowd started to thin out some more. I was then able to see Paul and Brian Nelson coming out of the building. He had traded his cap for a baseball one and was wearing a little smirk.

Screenshot-2742 (3)

“Hey seniors!” he called out then, “Don’t forget! Bonfire starts at the beach in thirty minutes!” This was followed by loud cheers, which I saw many parents cover their ears to.

Screenshot-2744 (3)

After that, many people headed off, probably for the beach. Before Evanglina left, I saw her turn and give Ricky a hug.

“I’m so proud of you,” he said, with a smile. “Have fun and be safe.”

Evanglina grinned. “Thank you. It means a lot coming from you,” she said, and then with a little wave, she heads off to Derek’s motorcycle where he was waiting for her. Wow. It is amazing how close the two of them have gotten in such a small amount of time.

Screenshot-2749 (3) 2

An hour later, the bonfire was in full swing. The beach logs had been piled on top of each other and engulfed in a bright yellow-orange flame, and with the smell of the ocean air along with the waves from the sea, it was a beautiful view.

Screenshot-2748 (3)

I caught Derek and Adam even stopping to take in the scenery. And may I say, they both looked fantastic in their bathing suits. All rock hard and chiseled. Even I’m getting all hot and bothered!

Screenshot-2752 (3)

Paul was also looking pretty good as he waded in the ocean with Kara. They seemed to be having a nice private party with just the two of them, so I decided to take my leave.

Screenshot-2750 (3)

It looked like someone brought over a portable boom box and started blaring some tunes from the speakers. I even saw an ice shaving machine! Maria took advantage of this as I saw her walking off with a lemon ice shaving. I even happened to snag a cherry and blue raspberry flavored one without anyone noticing. Delicious!

Screenshot-2758 (3)

I spotted Josephina arriving a bit later in a pair of boots. She totally had that pirate thing going on! There was a buffet table up on the beach lookout, and it seemed both she and Adam were heading right up to it.

Screenshot-2759 (3)

Inside the lookout, I found Evanglina and Emilie hanging by the pool table deep in conversation. Evanglina seemed to be telling Emilie about her acceptance to Bridgeport University.

“Kara got accepted too,” she was saying. “She also got accepted into the University of Aderson and Cleveland University, but she chose the same as me.” She laughed. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy about it.”

Emilie smiled. “That’s great! I hear Maria and Derek are going there as well. It’s nice that you will all be together.”

“Yah, but it won’t be the same without you.” Evanglina sighed. “Still, I’m so happy you got into Columbia University.”

“Me too, but not as happy as my mom. She is telling everyone she can about it.” They both then laughed.

Screenshot-2760 (3)

“So has Paul decided where he is going?”

Emilie shrugged. “I’m not totally sure. He seems split between Alfred State and Bridgeport, but if I could place a bet, I’d say Alfred State. I think its Kara that is making him confused, what with them now dating and everything.”

“Which brings me to ask, how are things with you and Claude?”

Emilie looked surprised and then blushed. “Good. Very good.”

“You two have been spending a lot of time together lately.”

Screenshot-2761 (3)

Emilie rubbed the back of her neck still blushing. “Yes, I guess we have.”

“Well, I’m glad things are going well with you two.”

“Yah, only thing is that he leaves in a week, so we are trying to spend as much time together as we can before then.”

“Understandable. That must be hard.”

“I’m trying not to think about it.”

Evanglina smiled. “You should get out there then. I saw him arrive a few minutes ago.”

She doesn’t have to say that twice, for Emilie then perked up and was on her way out the door.

Screenshot-2769 (3)

Out on the deck, Adam and Josephina were still munching on the buffet food. But that wasn’t all. It would seem that Adam had a bit of an ulterior motive for eating with her. As they ate, he seemed to be asking a lot of questions about Maria and how she was doing, including, asking where she was thinking about going to school.

“She’s thinking about Bridgeport University. It’s between that and NYU.”

“Oh. So she hasn’t decided yet?”

Josephina laughed and rose from her chair. “Adam, if you want to know so bad, I think you should just ask her.”

Adam swallowed. “I…can’t. She won’t talk to me.”

“Trust me Adam. Talk to her,” she said, and then she left the deck. Goodness. If Adam is still after Maria after all this time, I really think that boy is head over heels. Seriously. I even feel a bit bad for him.

Screenshot-2770 (3)

Maria, however, was off with Evanglina by a fire pit that someone had started. They were deep in a conversation about college and even their band.

“I say we should do our own video,” Evanglina was saying. “If that one that someone put up got 250,000 views, I think we could do one of our own and get just as many.”

Maria shrugged. “It’s worth a shot. Anything to get “Evarie” on a roll.”

“It’s going to be hard with you in San Mario, New Mexico all summer, not to mention if you end up going to NYU.”

“I know, but I haven’t decided yet! I still have a week to give NYU an answer.”

“And are you any closer to figuring it out?”

Maria took a deep breath. “I really like NYU, but the music program at Bridgeport University is amazing. Also, I have always wanted to go to school in Bridgeport.”

“Well, in the end, you should go where your heart is.”

Maria sighed. “Isn’t that the truth. I wish it was that easy.”

Screenshot-2772 (3)

Evanglina pulled Maria into a hug. “You’re talking about Adam, aren’t you?”

“I just wish I knew what to do about him. He’s been trying to get us back together since Prom, but I’m not sure how I feel about it.”

“I think you just need to talk to him about it. Really talk to him. Make him understand how you feel. At least then you both aren’t walking on egg shells.”

Screenshot-2773 (3)

Maria was quiet for a minute and then she shook her head. “I hate relationships. They can be so stressful.”

Evanglina laughed. “You’re telling me! Look at everything Derek and I went through the past year. You think college will be any easier?”

They are both quiet and then laugh. “No!” They say in unison and then walk off toward the bonfire. Here’s to wishing them both a stress-free summer.

Screenshot-2776 (3)

After that, the night seemed to go along more smoothly. Maybe that was because Claire and Angel were nowhere in sight.

Screenshot-2775 (3)

Which was probably a bit of a relieve for Paul and Kara who had moved from the ocean and were stargazing together by the shore. The last thing they probably needed was Angel bursting in on their private moment.

Screenshot-2789 (3)

Derek and Evanglina seemed to be getting a little mushy by the fire pit while dancing to the music from the boombox. Seeing them together so happy, I can’t help but wonder if they will still be together this time next year. Then again, if they can get through everything they have been through over the past year and a half, I think they can get through anything. They just might be the couple that will someday make it down the alter.

Screenshot-2792 (3)

As for Adam and Maria, who knows. Things aren’t looking that great for them. Although I did happen to catch them finally speaking to each other before the party ended. Adam seemed to want to go on, but Maria didn’t seem ready. I heard her say something about meeting up later this week and then she turned and left. Adam looked crushed, but a little hopeful. Don’t worry my Queendalers, I will keep my eye on that development.

Screenshot-2795 (3) 2

As the night dragged on, people started to slowly disperse. Soon, only a few people were left on the beach, including Evanglina and Josephina, who were still hanging by the warm blazing fire.

Screenshot-2777 (3)

Emilie and Claude were also still left chatting away with each other. It’s so strange to see Emilie with a boyfriend. She has really come out of her shell over the year.

Screenshot-2787 (3)

And before the night came to a close, I couldn’t help but drift back to Paul and Kara, who were alone on the other side of the beach. They seemed to be in a conversation about schools as well.

“You seem to really be leaning toward it though, Paul,” Kara was saying. “I think you really want to go there.”

“But Kara-”

“Paul, I don’t want you to have any regrets about the school you go to. I want you to go to the one that makes you the happiest. Even if that means I won’t be there.”

Screenshot-2786 (3)

Paul grinned. “You know any other girl would be begging me not to go, but you are the complete opposite.”

Kara laughed. “I’m not like other girls. And I want you to be happy. Besides, we won’t be too far from each other. Just an hour away.”

“Forty-five minutes, to be exact.”

“Even better.” Kara pulled him closer to her. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Screenshot-2785 (3)

And just like the end of a chick flick rom-com movie, they shared a lip lock under the stars. Not trying to be cheesy, but it was definitely a “The Notebook” like kiss. I guess we now know where Paul will be going. Alfred State, here he comes!

Well, that ends grad night for the seniors! Congratulations to all of you! Go Hawks! And to those of you still guessing my identity, you are getting very close!

Kisses,

   Lexie

Year 2: Post 30: Looking Up

Hey Queendalers! Code word for this week, is “calendar.” I thought it was fitting considering how fast time has been flying by. In just a month, school will be out for the summer! Life is crazy, huh? Well I won’t waste any time with my personal rambling. Let’s get right to it!

Screenshot-752 (2)

So Henrietta was spotted at “The Maxwell” earlier this week. She was having lunch with a friend, one I can only assume was from work. Henrietta has now turned from her life as a lady of leisure and to become a receptionist at one of the local salons. And from the conversation she was having, she wasn’t too happy about it.

Screenshot-759 (2)

“And that woman wouldn’t know a brush if it hit her in the face,” Henrietta was saying about a customer. “I’m telling you Lisa, the most outrageous people show up at the salon. I don’t know how you have put up with it all these years.”

Lisa rolled her eyes. “Tell me about it. I swear, some people shouldn’t even be allowed in there. I have to fix her split ends and her horribly frizzy up do, and she has the nerve to give me attitude? They are the worst.”

“I miss the days when I wouldn’t have to associate with such people.”

Lisa shrugged. “Well, you had a good thing going with Damien. Shame you wasted it doing that thing with Luke.”

Screenshot-760 (2)

Henrietta frowned. “Excuse me?”

Lisa smiled. “I’m sorry to give you some tough love, but none of this would have happened if you had just stopped this thing with Luke when I told you to.”

“I did stop the thing with Luke!”

“Did you? Did you really? Henrietta, you kept your affair with him going on until a few months ago.”

“I did not!”

“You only stopped it when he started that whole thing about being Angel’s real father, which ended up being true. By the way, how are things going with the two of them?”

Screenshot-757 (2)

Henrietta sighed. “How you would expect them to. Angel is refusing to speak to him.”

“Well, I can’t blame her. I’ll bet Luke is like a stranger to her.”

Henrietta nodded. “She’s even said that. Nonetheless, Luke is her real father and he wants a relationship with her. He won’t stop until he forms one. He feels like he has been robbed of a life with her.”

“Well, he kind of was.”

“Whose side are you on anyway?” Henrietta finally snapped.

I am a bit amused by all this and am really liking her friend.

“I’m sorry hun,” Lisa said, “but I’m just being honest. Isn’t that why you keep me around?”

“That and you helped get me a job after the divorce.” Henrietta sighed again. “The way Damien is going, I’m going to end up with nothing in the divorce settlement. He’s basically making it seem like I just married him for his money.”

“And you didn’t?”

“No! I love him!”

Screenshot-758 (2)

“Didn’t you also claim you married Luke for that reason? What made you two divorce? Wasn’t it because he went bankrupt?” When Henrietta gave her a dirty look, Lisa chuckled. “Okay, all right. I’ll stop. I am on your side. It’s just you are in a pretty sticky situation.”

“I know that, Lisa. I don’t need you to remind me.”

They are both then quiet for a few minutes. I can tell Henrietta is boiling from everything Lisa said.

“So, Angel is graduating in a few months,” Lisa continued, breaking the tension.

Henrietta nodded. “Yes, she and Derek both are. I still can’t believe it.”

“So what comes after for them?”

“Well, Derek seems to be leaning toward Bridgeport University, but Damien really wants him to go to his Alma Mater, University of Columbia Heights. Angel on the other hand, I don’t know. She hasn’t heard back from any of her schools yet, and she doesn’t really seem to care too much.” Henrietta looked away. “I am a bit worried about her.”

Screenshot-763 (2)

Lisa grinned. “I think Angel is just trying to find herself. With everything going on with her, it’s not a surprise to me that she would be confused. I’m sure she will figure things out in time.”

Henrietta placed her hands in her lap. “I sure hope so. I just want the best for her.”

“I know. And I’ll bet she knows it too. She just needs some time.” Lisa then clasped her hands together. “Now let’s order. I’m famished.”

They then turn back to their menus and begin to order. I still can’t believe Henrietta has a job. Granted, it is a job that totally suits her, but still. I never thought I would see the day that Henrietta would have to work. Karma’s a witch, isn’t it?

Screenshot-241 (4)

Speaking of Angel, I spotted her later that evening at the club owned by Damien. She was there with Claire and they seemed pretty down. I am not too surprised since they have been that way since Prom. I’ll bet it is the first time that both of them have lost the guys they were dating. They won’t stop talking about it!

Screenshot-246 (4)

Upon arriving they headed straight to the Karaoke booth and started singing (well, screeching) song after song. And I mean from Paula Deana’s hits to oldies, like the spice girls. It was crazy and extremely obnoxious. Not that anyone said a word. I think they all knew who Angel and Claire’s parents were.

Screenshot-252 (4)

After thirty minutes had passed, the room started to empty. I think people had heard enough of their squawking and needed some peace. I even felt like I was losing my mind.

Screenshot-262 (4)

I was surprised to see Claude and Charlotte there along with them. Then again, they do live with Claire, so…

Claude and Charlotte were preoccupied in a game of pool. You could tell that they were desperately trying to ignore all the loud singing of Angel and Claire.

Screenshot-264 (4)

Finally, they finished and took a break to get drinks at the bar counter (thank God!). They both ordered virgin Pina coladas and I couldn’t help but be a little surprised about them not using their fake IDs.

“So, why’d you bring Claude and Charlotte along again?” Angel asked.

Claire sighed. “My mom made me. She said with them only having a month left here, we should spend some time together. Parents.”

“Tell me about it.” Angel flipped a strand of her hair over her shoulder. “My mom won’t stop bugging me about school, and, well…Luke.”

Screenshot-279 (4)

Angel then put in an order with the bartender for an appetizer plate and he served it to her a few minutes later.

“So, how are things going with him?” Claire asked.

“Luke?” Angel lifted her shoulders. “I don’t know. Okay I guess.”

“Have you spent any time with him since you found out he’s your dad-”

“He’s not my dad. Well, he is, but-” Angel broke off and sighed. “I don’t know, the whole thing is kind of confusing to me right now. I’m just not ready to talk to him yet.”

“I can’t blame you. I don’t know how I would feel if I found out my dad wasn’t my real dad. I don’t know how you’ve been able to deal with it.”

Screenshot-280 (4)

Behind them, Charlotte had started to sing some karaoke and was drawing quite a crowd. No surprise there. Charlotte actually has an amazing voice.

“I haven’t really been dealing with it,” Angel said, while taking a bite of some cheese from her plate. “Remember a few weeks ago?”

Claire shrugged. “Hey, you were in a bad place that night. I just wish Claude had been gentleman enough to take you home. I can’t believe he just left you there like that. What a jerk.”

“Well, I guess he only has eyes for Emilie.”

“Ugh, that freak.” Claire rolled her eyes. “I don’t even know what he sees in her. Have you been seeing the two of them lately? They’ve been all lovey dovey and gross.”

“I know!” Angel shivered. “It’s almost as bad as Paul and Kara. I totally caught them making out in the park this week.” She makes a gagging motion with her finger and tongue.

Nice Angel. Very mature.

Screenshot-275 (4)

“I can’t wait for this year to end,” Claire then said, with a sigh. “It has been the worst.”

“Tell me about it. I’d say it has been that way since the Marsens moved in last year. Not to mention when Adam started dating Maria.”

“Don’t even bring that up,” Claire said shaking her head. “I have been trying to get Adam to just let her go, but he refuses to. I just hope he goes to Duke University so he can be away from her.”

“I hope so too. Didn’t you get accepted there too?”

“Yah, but I’ve decided not to go. I accepted the offer to Cleveland University instead. That said, I kind of have other plans for after graduation. What about you? Have you gotten accepted anywhere?”

Angel looked down at her plate in silence. “No. I’ve actually been rejected from all the schools I applied to. I haven’t told my mom about it, I just said that I hadn’t received all my letters yet. I don’t know how to tell her.”

Screenshot-274 (4)

“Well, you need to tell her soon. She is bound to find out.”

Angel nodded. “I know, I just don’t know how. Honestly, I don’t really think I am ready to go to college. I feel like I just want to go out and explore the world for a bit first. If I went, I wouldn’t even know what to study or anything. I just don’t think it is right for me.”

Claire looked at her silently for a minute and then seemed to think of something. “You know, I might have an idea,” she said.

I thought so.

“So, I talked to my mom about me taking some time off before going to Cleveland University. I managed to delay my acceptance to them for a quarter and I talked my mom into letting me go stay with my aunt in France. Maybe if you talked to your mom, you could come with me! Can you imagine the adventures we would have in Paris?”

I sure can. They would probably wreck the city.

Screenshot-282 (4)

Angel looked up. “Really? You’d want me to come with you?”

“Of course! Besides, it would be fun to have you along. It was going to be a bit lonely going by myself since both of my cousins are going to a university in Barcelona. If you come with me, it could be us against Paris.”

Angel grinned. “I’ll talk to my mom. And you know, she just might agree to it. It beats me siting around and looking pitiful until next year rolls around.”

“I hear you.” Claire then glanced over her shoulder and seemed to finally spot Charlotte singing her rendition of “Blame It On The Weatherman,” by B*witched. “We should go. Charlotte is getting a bit carried away.”

Screenshot-277 (4)

And boy was she ever.

Charlotte had taken off with the song and was even hitting high notes. The audience that had left from Claire and Angel’s screeching, had returned and were cheering her on. I am sure going to miss having Charlotte around when school ends. She really has given Angel and Claire a run for their money. Well, minus them using her to break up Adam and Maria, and attempting to do the same with Evanglina and Derek.

Screenshot-986 (2)

Speaking of Evanglina and Derek, I spotted them cuddling under the stars later that evening. They were sitting in an old car that Damien had apparently purchased.

“My dad is hoping we can fix it up together. Like some kind of project,” Derek was saying.

“I think that’s sweet,” Evanglina said with a smile. “I think he just wants to spend some time with you before you go off to college.”

“Yah, probably.” They both then sit quietly for a few minutes. “So, how are you doing?”

“I’m okay,” Evanglina said, and then looked upward toward the sky. “Just taking each day one at a time.”

Screenshot-987 (2)

“I’ve been worried about you,” Derek said, gently giving her shoulder a squeeze, “especially when you didn’t show up to school for almost two weeks.”

Evanglina nodded. “I know. I wanted to tell you what was going on, but I couldn’t.”

“I can’t believe Jake did all those things to you.” Derek shook his head, and cursed under his breath. “He’s disgusting.”

Whoa, now that’s when you know he is really angry. Derek hardly ever curses!

“No argument here,” Evanglina said in agreement. “I was so relieved when Aunt Sarah showed up with Ricky. I’m just so happy to be out of there. Things have been so much better. It was so stupid of me not to say anything. I should have listened to you.”

“Well, I know why you didn’t. You were hoping things would get better. I’m just sorry that they didn’t.”

Screenshot-983 (2)

“I never thought my mother would just stand there and watch him do all that to me,” Evanglina continued. “She just stood there, Derek.”

No kidding. It was extremely unbelievable to this blogger as well.

Evanglina exhaled deeply. “I know she was probably high on those drugs Jake uses, but still. She just stood and watched! And that’s not all. She has always chosen Jake over me. I’m just so angry with her.”

Derek nodded. “I understand. I’m just sorry about all of this. I wish I could have helped you more.”

Evanglina smiled. “You have. You’ve been helping me since all this started. I never had the courage to stand up to Jake before I met you.”

Screenshot-997 (2)

After saying this, Evanglina leaned over and kissed Derek and then they spend the next few minutes kissing gently. It may have been a cool night, but it was definitely heated in that car!

Screenshot-993 (2)

“Well, my head is spinning,” Derek joked when they finally pulled apart and Evanglina laughed.

Have I already said how much I love them as a couple?

“Mine too,” said Evanglina. She then leaned over to touch something in the car and after, music began to emit from the speakers. Ironically, it was Paula Deana’s romantic hit song, “Without You.” “Can you believe that in just a month we won’t be high schoolers anymore?”

“I know, it’s crazy.” Derek shook his head. “I used to feel like high school would never end. Now, I don’t know if I want it to.”

“Hey, it’s not like we won’t still be seeing each other.”

“That’s true. After all, we are going to the same school.”

Evanglina looked surprised when he said that. “You’re going to Bridgeport University? I thought your dad wanted you to go to University of Columbia Heights?”

“He does, but it’s just not the school for me. I feel more at home at Bridgeport University, and of course, with you.”

Screenshot-988 (2)

“Derek, I’d love for us to be at the same school, but I don’t want you to be going just because of me.”

“I’m not. I’ve always wanted to go to Bridgeport University. I’ve spent so much time in Queendale that it would be nice to go somewhere different for a change.”

“That’s true. I’ve been mostly everywhere, but the big city. It will be a nice change.” Evanglina looked upward once again. “To be honest, I’ve always seen it in my future. Me graduating from a college in the city and then starting a life there.”

They are both then quiet for a minute.

“I can see that,” Derek then said. “I can also see you and me together, possibly, in a chapel…do you?”

Whoa…was Derek saying what I thought he was saying?

Evanglina looked surprised. “You mean, like married?” When Derek nodded, Evanglina grinned. “I don’t know…maybe. Life is crazy though.”

“So, you don’t see it?” Derek looked a little disappointed, and I couldn’t blame him. She kind of rejected the idea a bit.

Evanglina shook her head. “I didn’t say that. I just think we’re still so young!” She then laughed. “That said, I think that if you and I make it through our four years of college together, then yes. I can definitely see it.”

Screenshot-998 (2)

Derek then grinned and pulled Evanglina toward him. “I love you,” I heard him say to her softly.

Evanglina touched his cheek gently and leaned closer to him. “I love you too,” she said, and they began to kiss once again.

It’s then that I decided to take my leave and give them a bit of privacy, but not before snapping another pic of them. They are so adorable! I still can’t believe they were cheated from Prom King and Queen! Although, at this point the whole school pretty much knows that Angel bribed Greg Jensen. I’m surprised that the principle hasn’t asked her to give her crown up. He is totally the type to do that! Not that Angel would give it up willingly. After everything she has been going through, that crown is probably her one piece of salvation!

Well, that’s it for this week. Only a few posts left, and that means only a few posts left to guess who I am. Yes, you guessed it, I am a Queendale graduate this year! So time is running out for you, my dearies! Keep guessing, and I will be revealing my identity in my last post! Guess correctly and you may just get a shout out! More soon!

Year 2: Post 29: A New Normal

Hey Queendalers! If you guessed “sleeping bag”, you got it! So this week was a slow one. With all the seniors worrying about graduation and getting all their credits, there is no trouble for drama. Well, for the most part.

Screenshot-1193 (4)

So, Track season has come to a close. That said, Paul has still been practicing his skills, including soccer and basketball.  I spotted him practicing with Emily at the park Thursday afternoon.

Screenshot-1194 (4)

Let me tell you, she was not so bad herself! She put up a good game, kicking the ball with all her might into the net. Even with all Paul’s training, she gave him quite a workout.

Screenshot-1195 (4)

Still, she was no match for Paul and his superb goalie skills. He blocked every single one of Emilie’s balls despite her powerful force of kicks. Somehow, I think he will do just fine at either Bridgeport University or Alfred State with soccer.

Screenshot-1199 (4)

Unfortunately, it started to rain forty minutes later, ruining their fun. And it was coming down pretty hard. The two of them both then packed up their things and headed out. I however, would have stuck around if I was them. There is nothing like playing soccer in the rain. I love it! Sure, you might slip and slide along the mud, but that’s more of the fun!

Screenshot-2048 (3)

Emilie and Paul weren’t the only ones having fun this week. I spotted Evanglina and Ricky driving along this weekend together. It would seem that Evanglina has finally managed to get her permit and is working with Ricky to get her license! Better now than never! I’m sure you are wondering how she has been doing since the whole fiasco last weekend.

Screenshot-1877 (3)

Well, Evanglina is now back at school and seems to be doing better. She still has some scars on her neck and face left from Jake’s abuse, but other than that, she seems to be okay. She does seem a little quieter and more guarded than usual, but who can blame her? I can’t imagine dealing with what she has had to deal with for the past two years or more! At least there is now a bit of happiness for her.

Screenshot-2028 (3)

I also saw her at the park again, strumming on her guitar along with Maria. The two of them are really on about this starting a band thing. They have even given themselves a name, “Evarie,” by putting their names together. And trust me, they are not bad. Their performance at the Prom has sparked a lot of attention and from what I’ve heard, someone has posted a video of it online on “Youbook”, the social media Queendale teens are addicted to. The video has almost 250,000 views which is pretty good for Queendale and the state. These girls might be going places!

After playing in the park for a while, Maria followed Evanglina back to the Emerson house, where they met up with Kara and Emilie for a total ladies’ night! It looked like tons of fun, with them all seated in the family room chatting about everything from school to boys.

Screenshot-1976 (3)

Although, I was a bit surprised to see they were watching the FearNet station. Funny, they didn’t even seem that scared. I would have been terrified out of my mind! They show the creepiest movies on there, but there were the four of them laughing while watching! Crazy!

Screenshot-1979 (3)

The night then ended with a nice soak in the hot tub out back in the Emerson’s backyard. All four of them were laughing and seeming to be having a good time. Even Evanglina seemed to be enjoying herself.

Screenshot-1980 (3)

With all the conversations, it was obvious that they were all trying hard not to ask what happened between Evanglina and Jake. Still, you could tell they all desperately wanted to ask.

Instead, they focused on Emilie and Maria.

“So, how are things going with you and Claude, Em?” Kara asked.

Emilie laughed. “Well, I would say as well as you and my brother.”

Maria groaned. “Ugh. I totally forgot about that little detail.”

Emilie smiled and shrugged. “Hey, it’s okay with me. As long as you treat him right.”

“But of course! You know how much I love him.”

Emilie raised her hand. “Okay, now it’s getting weird.”

All three of them then laughed.

Screenshot-1982 (3)

“So how are you and Adam?” Emilie asked Maria. “Have you two talked since Prom?”

Maria shook her head. “I just can’t talk to him right now. I feel like my emotions are all over the place. On one side, I am still so angry that I can’t even think straight and then on the other side, I just miss him so much.”

Kara nodded. “Understandable. This whole situation with you two is just so messed up. I’m sorry.”

“Me too. I just hope I will figure things out soon.”

Screenshot-1986 (3)

“So, Evanglina,” Emilie looked at her carefully. “How are you, um, doing?”

It was quiet for a few minutes and then Evanglina sighed.

“Well, I’m doing better. I just wish I didn’t feel so guilty about…leaving.”

“Don’t Eva,” Kara said shaking her head. “You had to leave. You couldn’t stay in an environment like that. It was bad for you. I mean, look what Jake did to you!”

Evanglina nodded. “I know, but my mom looked so hurt when I left. I guess…I just have never seen her like that before.”

“Your mom is hurt now, but she caused this. She shouldn’t have let Jake do all that to you. I think right now you need to focus on you.”

Both Emilie and Maria agree.

Evanglina smiled. “I guess I’m outnumbered.” She then lay back upon the tub wall and seemed to relax.

Screenshot-1990 (3)

After soaking, they started to head inside, but then Evanglina said she had a spooky story to tell. They all then gathered on the ground and she began telling them a ghost story. As she told the story, they all got so into it, that they started jerking and pulling away as if Evanglina was the one doing all the killing in the story!

Finally, she ended it with the final line, “So every time the moon is full and is a shade of blue, fear that the mystical moonlight just may affect you.”

Maria laughed and gave Evanglina a smile. “If we weren’t into the music scene you definitely would get money for your storytelling.”

Kara laughed as well. “On that note, let’s go to bed.”

The four of them then headed inside. It is amazing how so much has changed, but the four of them have still managed to be good friends. Go figure.

Well, that it is for now. Tune in next week for more drama!

More soon!

Year 2: Post 28: Escaping the Marsens House of Horror

Hey Queendalers! So I am sure you are all wondering exactly what is going on with the Marsens since last week’s post. Well, I actually do have some news, for those of you who don’t yet know. Here we go!

So as you know, Evanglina hasn’t really been in school the past week. While everyone figured that she was just sick (and there may have been some truth to that), it would seem that she was at home because Jake and Henria were keeping her there. And of course, it only got worse after Kara told Evanglina about the possibility of Ricky being her father. Since that night that Jake dragged her upstairs to her room, Evanglina has not been seen out of the house. I’m serious! It’s like she disappeared. Kara and Derek have tried to see her a few times, but Henria always yells at them to leave and Jake slams the door in their faces.

Screenshot-2661 (3)

It is pretty obvious that they are basically keeping her trapped there, something that it would seem Sarah came to notice. After almost a week had passed, she made her way over to talk to Henria. It was Thursday afternoon to be exact. Henria didn’t want to let her in, but Sarah would not take no for an answer. She pushed her way through the door and into the house.

“What do you want Sarah?” Henria said rolling her eyes. Her face looked like she hadn’t slept in days. What on Earth was she taking?

“I came to see Evanglina,” said Sarah. “Kara said she hasn’t been in school for almost two weeks. She said she came over last week and snuck in to see her, but since then you haven’t been letting anyone in. So, I decided to come over to see for myself.”

Henria sniffed. “Evanglina is not available to talk right now.”

“Henria, I want to see her.”

“Well you can’t. She is very sick right now and she is contagious.”

Sarah arched her eyebrow. “Why don’t I believe you?”

Henria scoffed. “I don’t know, and I really don’t care. Whatever the case, you wasted a trip. Evanglina isn’t having any visitors, so you can just go.”

Screenshot-2662 (3)

“Listen Henria,” Sarah snapped. “I am not going anywhere until I see Evanglina. I don’t care if she is contagious or whatever you say. I want to see her. Now.”

Henria glared at her. “Excuse me, but this is my house and Evanglina is my daughter. You can’t just barge in here and order me around!”

“I just want to see Evanglina,” Sarah said again. “I want to make sure she is okay.”

“She is fine! Now get out!”

“No!” Sarah yelled. “You aren’t getting rid of me this time. I want to see her. Besides, the test results come back today.”

Screenshot-2664 (3)

Henria looked at her curiously. “What test results?”

“The results of the test I ordered to be run with Evanglina and Ricky. Today we should know the truth about whether or not he is her father.”

Henria’s eyes widened. “W-what? H-how are you running a test? I have not given you permission nor have I given you any sample of Evanglina’s DNA!”

Sarah shrugged. “I found an alternate way. I also happen to know someone in the lab.”

“I should have known you would bend the rules to get what you want,” Henria snorted.

Sarah sighed. “I just want the truth Henria, and so does Ricky.” Just as she said this, a car pulled up and then Ricky emerged from the front door. “Looks like Ricky is here,” she said.

Screenshot-2665 (3)

Ricky then knocked gently on the door and entered.

“Henria,” he said gently, “we need to talk.”

“I’m not in the mood, Ricky. I think we have said all we need to say to each other.”

Ricky shook his head. “I don’t think we have. I don’t know if Sarah told you that she-”

“Ran a test against you and some magical DNA she got of Evanglina? Yes, she has told me. So what?”

“So it wasn’t some magical DNA. She got it off Evanglina’s used latte cup, from when she took her and Kara shopping. And I received the results right before I came here.” He pauses to take a deep breath. “Henria…I’m her father.”

Screenshot-2669 (3)

I honestly wonder what reaction Ricky was hoping for. Maybe shock? Surprise? Horror? I don’t know, but it was not what he got. After those words left his lips, she just stood there staring at him.

“So what?” she said.

(Wait what? That was her response?)

Ricky looked confused. “What?”

“I said, so what?” Henria shrugged. “It doesn’t change anything.”

Ricky frowned. “What do you mean it doesn’t change anything? Of course it does!”

“How so?”

“Because this proves that she is my daughter, Henria! My daughter!”

Screenshot-2667 (3)

“Says your stupid test,” Henria protested. “How legit is it, really? You could have tampered with it.”

“Why would I do that?”

“I don’t know! I’m not in your head! But even so, it doesn’t matter.”

“It doesn’t matter?” Ricky looked extremely irritated. “Are you insane?”

“Oh please! You think you can be gone for all Evanglina’s life and then just waltz back in? Get real!”

Ricky looked incredulous and I can’t blame him. What kind of crock was that?

Screenshot-2668 (3)

“What the hell are you talking about?” he snapped. “You never told me I was her father!”

“And how could I? What with you screwing my sister back at home!  You chose her over us! So Evanglina and I had to move on with our lives!”

“What do you mean us? I didn’t even know you were pregnant! You left town and never told me! I would have never abandoned Evanglina!”

“Oh, so you just wanted to abandon me. Nice! Very nice Ricky! Gosh (censoring)! I wish I had never been with you!”

“This isn’t about me and you! This is about Evanglina!”

“And she is my daughter! So I get to decide who gets to be in her life and who doesn’t!”

Screenshot-2669 (3)

It’s amazing how this has turned into a shouting match. If anyone had been jogging by or even biking, they would have been able to hear their whole conversation. It was that loud, and also, the window happened to be open.

After Henria finished her sentence, she and Ricky just stood glaring at each other. Sarah looked totally caught in the middle.

“Well, I’m sorry, but you can’t decide that anymore, Henria,” he said finally. “Evanglina is eighteen years old now, and she’s my daughter too. So that means I have just as much right as you do.”

Henria scoffed. “Oh please, you haven’t even been a part of her life. In a custody hearing you wouldn’t have any say.”

“Are you kidding?”  Ricky raised his eyebrows, “If we were negotiating for custody, you would be at a serious loss! For goodness sakes, you are engaged to a man that allegedly imports drugs! He is on the police station’s watch list!”

Henria lips tightened. “Is that a threat, Ricky?”

“No! I’m just saying-”

“Because you aren’t going to take her away from me. No one is going to take Evanglina away from me!”

Screenshot-2670 (3)

The front door then opened and Jake came walking in. He looked from Henria to Ricky and then to Sarah.

“What’s going on?” he asked. “What is your slut sister and this a******* (censoring) doing here?”

Ricky turned to him. “Don’t you dare talk about my wife like that.”

“Oh, calm you nuts man,” Jake snapped.

Henria sighed. “Ricky just came over to tell me how he and Sarah had my daughter tested to see if he is her father. Apparently, the test came back positive for a match.”

Jake scoffed. “Really? So you’re that little brat’s father?” he chuckled. “That explains a lot.”

Ricky frowned. “I would appreciate it if you referred to Evanglina by her name.”

I noticed as they were talking, Sarah was slowly making her way around them and toward the staircase. She then crept her way up the stairs undetected.

Meanwhile, Jake just laughed. “That little b**** (censoring) doesn’t deserve to be called anything other than what she is. A dirty, little rotten slut.”

Screenshot-2673 (3)

As soon as he said this, Ricky surprised me by punching Jake in the face! Seriously!

Only Jake didn’t take that too well. He gritted his teeth and then tackled Ricky! The two of them then went rolling onto the floor. Henria just stood above them watching in surprise and awe.

The fight went on for a while with each of them struggling against each other. There is then a loud crashing sound and I can’t tell whether it was caused by them or from something upstairs. Ricky’s face looked totally furious while Jake had that killer look in his eyes. Scary!

Screenshot-2677 (3)

Finally, they both pulled apart panting. At that same time, Evanglina and Sarah emerged from upstairs. Evanglina looked horrible and terribly weak as she followed behind her. Her face was sunken like she hasn’t slept in days, and there was still a bruise on her cheek from where Jake had backhanded her; not to mention a few on her neck.

Seeing her, Henria’s eyes widened. “Evanglina! W-what-h-how did you-”

“I got her out of her room,” Sarah interrupted. “The door was locked, so I had to break in to get her out.” She gave Henria a dirty look. “She was handcuffed to her bed.”

Ricky looked even more outraged. “W-what?”

Sarah nodded. “I had to use a pin to pick the lock!”

“All those bruises.” Ricky was scanning Evanglina’s face. “How did you get them?”

Evanglina didn’t answer. She just glanced in Jake’s direction.

Screenshot-2683 (3)

Ricky turned to Jake looking livid. “Did you do that to her?”

Jake smirked. “Hey, some kids need harsher punishments for the message to sink in. Evanglina happens to be one of them. Only problem, she doesn’t seem to learn her lesson, as you can see.”

“How dare you!” Ricky made a move toward Jake, but he was too quick. Jake lunged at him and then the two them go at it again!

Sarah is totally caught off guard, screaming for Ricky to stop.

“We don’t need this! We have Evanglina so let’s just take her and go!”

Screenshot-2685 (3)

Ricky finally shoved Jake away and rose to his feet. “You’re right. Let’s just get out of here.”

Sarah then quickly ushered Evanglina out of the door while swatting away Henria, who was reaching to grab her.

“She is my daughter!” Henria screamed. “You can’t just barge in here and take her!”

“We aren’t! Evanglina wants to come with us, which I think is an excellent decision considering what is happening to her here! Also, she is eighteen years old! She can move out! And you forcing her to stay here against her will, is basically kidnapping!”

“I am not going to let you take her!”

“You don’t have a choice!” Sarah said, and then sighed. “Ricky and I are walking out of here with Evanglina and if you try to stop us, I will call the police.”

She then pushed Evanglina out the door. Ricky looked at Jake and Henria one more time and then he left as well, with Henria screaming at the top of her lungs from inside the house.

Screenshot-2688 (3)

Outside, Evanglina climbed into Sarah’s van and shut the door. Henria then came running out of the house screaming,

“You can’t do this Evanglina! You can’t leave me too! I need you! You can’t leave me!”

Evanglina just took one look at Henria and the house before turning away. Henria then stood by the doorsteps and watched Sarah’s car drive away before bursting into tears. I want to feel sorry for her, but I can’t. I am just too happy that finally Evanglina is out of that chaos.

Screenshot-2691 (3)

As Ricky and Sarah drove off into the distance, I couldn’t help but feel extremely relieved. I had been on the verge of blowing my cover to help Evanglina out. Luckily, I didn’t have to. Maybe just maybe, things might get better for that girl. One can hope.

Well, that is it for this week. The weeks are dwindling down and summer is almost on us. Also, graduation is right around the corner! Soon high school will be behind us. Let’s have a toast to bigger and better things in life. More soon my dearies!

Year 2: Post 27: Enough Is Enough

Hey my Queendalers! So last week’s code was a little weird, but some of you were still able to guess it, “butterfly.”  Still, some of you did struggle with it, so I will leave the code for one more week for those of you that could not guess it. Well, this week’s post is a bit jam packed, so let me get started!

Screenshot-1510 (3)

First of all, I spotted Angel and Claire at Feng Shui Fusion on Friday night. They were perched on stools while enjoying plates of sushi. Claire was going on about her irritation with the events of prom night.

“I cannot believe that he ditched me for Kara,” she said, shaking her head. “I mean, its Kara! I can’t believe he left me for that piece of trash.”

“You’re complaining,” Angel gave her a look, “What about Claude? He basically made me look like some pathetic loser! Telling me that he had no interest in me romantically? He basically “friend-zoned” me!”  (Oh yes he did! It was absolutely beautiful.)

Claire nodded. “That was pretty messed up.”

“And on top of that, he also ditched me for Emilie! That science geek!” Angel rolled her eyes. “So, I think I had it a bit worse than you.”

Screenshot-1511 (3)

“Oh yah?” Claire looked at her. “What about me getting kicked out of prom? Everyone was staring.”

“Well you did start that fight.”

“That’s because Kara had it coming!”

“I didn’t say she didn’t.” Angel sighed. “I’m just saying maybe you shouldn’t have fought with her at the dance. You know how strict the principle was being about fights.”

Claire grumbled something about it not being a big deal and then turned back to her sushi.

Screenshot-1517 (3)

“Hey, no worries,” Angel then said. “This fall we will be in college and get to be around hot college guys. We won’t have to bother ourselves with these stupid high school guys anymore.”

Claire nodded. “That’s true. Speaking of which, have you heard back from your colleges?”

Angel suddenly looked disinterested. “I’m still waiting to hear from them. They should be sending me my acceptances soon. How about you?”

“Well, I heard back from Bridgeport University and Duke. They apparently both accepted me. I was a bit surprised about Duke. I got an interview and I didn’t think it went well. I guess there was something about me they liked.”

Angel seemed to force a smile. “That sounds great. Have you decided which one you are going to attend?”

Claire shrugged. “I’m still deciding. I do have some time.”

Angel then excused herself to go to the restroom.

Screenshot-1525 (3)

As soon as she disappeared upstairs, the front doors opened and Claude came walking through. Spotting Claire, he walked right over.

“Claire, where is Charlotte?” he asked. “She told me she would be joining you for dinner and to pick her up from here, but I’ve been waiting outside and she hasn’t come out.”

Claire glared at him. “I dropped her off at home on my way home from school. Besides, I uninvited her. This dinner is just for Angel and I.”

“Well, you should have informed Charlotte about that so she could have told me.”

“It’s not fun when someone messes with you, huh?”

Screenshot-1529 (3)

Claude stared at her for a moment in silence before responding. “To what are you implying? I don’t believe I have ever messed with you.”

Claire scoffed. “Maybe not to me, but you did to Angel. I know that you ditched her at the prom.”

Claude raised his eyebrows in realization. “Oh that. I was not messing with Angel. I simply told her that she had the wrong idea about us. We were just friends, but she had mistakenly thought we were more.”

“That wasn’t her fault! You asked her to the prom! That is asking her out! You are the one that suddenly changed your mind and wanted to be with, Emilie.”

Ugh, she says Emilie’s name like she has a bad taste in her mouth. My gosh I hate Claire.

Screenshot-1530 (3)

Still Claude pays her no mind. “Look, I didn’t come to argue with you. If Charlotte is at home like you say, I will just go and see her there.” He then turns and leaves, ignoring her loud comment about him being an “asswhole,” as he walks out. I swear, sometimes I wonder if Angel or Claire have any class left in their bodies. Not that they had much to begin with.

Screenshot-2556 (3)

In other news, I am sure you are wondering what has been going on with Evanglina since everything on the morning after prom night. Literally everyone is wondering that. No one has really seen much of Evanglina for the past week. I don’t think she has even been at school. Maybe she was sick?

Well, I found out the true reason that Friday afternoon. Kara, who had been trying to get into the Marsen house, was finally able to do so when Jake temporarily stepped outside for a few minutes to smoke (yes, you know what). Kara crept in through the back door quietly and found Evanglina cleaning the kitchen.

“Hey, what’s up?” she said, walking over to her. “I haven’t really seen much of you in the past week. Is everything okay?”

Screenshot-2557 (3)

Evanglina shrugged. “I-I just haven’t been feeling well.”

Now even I could tell she was lying.

It looked like Kara wasn’t buying it either. “Are you sure? It’s not like you to miss four whole days of school. Not even for being sick. Then again, Monday you didn’t look too good.”

Evanglina shrugged. “I’m okay. I’m just, um, not feeling well, like I said.”

“Is that also why Jake won’t let me or anyone else come in to see you?”

Screenshot-2559 (3)

Evanglina sighed. “I’m sorry, my mom’s just really angry about prom night. I slept over at Derek’s house and she is really mad about it. They both are.”

Kara frowned. “Since when do you care about what Jake says?”

“I-I don’t. I-I just don’t want any more problems right now,” Evanglina said. Her voice sounded a little strained.

Kara still looked worried, but she moved on. “Well, I came to tell you something. I’ve actually been trying to get a hold of you so I could talk to you about it.”

Evanglina glanced at the door. “Okay, but hurry. I don’t want you to get in trouble with Jake.”

Kara looked like she wanted to say something about that, but she seemed to decide against it.

Screenshot-2560 (3)

“So I heard my mother talking the other day about you and Ricky. It was so weird. She was on the phone with someone and she said something about them needing to hurry with some type of test results.”

Evanglina’s eyebrows furrowed. “Test results?”

Kara nodded. “Yes. She was really annoyed about it too. She said that she had asked them to put a rush on it, because Ricky needed to know sooner rather than later. It seemed really important to her.”

“That’s weird.”

“I thought so too, but then I started thinking about back when I was talking to Ricky and I said that you and him looked alike. Well, he told me that my mom seemed to really think so and was obsessing over it. Now, he’s been talking about it a lot too.”

Screenshot-2563 (3)

“What are you saying?”

Kara swallowed. “I’m saying, I think my mom thinks that Ricky is…your dad.”

Evanglina’s eyes widened as soon as Kara said this. “Wh-what?”

Kara shrugged. “I know, it sounds crazy, but I really think she believes it! And I’ll bet that those test results are to prove it.”

Evanglina looked so shocked, that I was afraid she might faint. “She-she thinks Ricky, is m-my…”

“Your father. And honestly? I think Ricky does so too.” Kara then smiled. “It’s weird to think about, right? That said, it would explain why your mom hates the fact that he is married to my mom. Especially, if she has known all this time.”

“My mom probably doesn’t know. She couldn’t. That would mean that she would have kept me from him for all these years. She may have problems, but she wouldn’t do that to me. Right?”

Kara was about to answer when the front door started to open.

Kara jumped. “I should go! I don’t want to get you in anymore trouble. Call me, me okay? And call Derek. He’s really worried about you.” She then slipped out through the back door.

Screenshot-2645 (3)

Okay, now here is where things got crazy. Henria, as it turns out, was at home the whole time! She was upstairs and after Kara left, she came slowly down the stairs. Jake coughing a bit from his joint, came walking in through the front door.

Evanglina took a deep breath and walked over to Henria.

“Mom, I need to ask you something.”

Henria turned around. “What do you want, Evanglina?”

“I need to know something.” She then paused and swallowed sharply. “Is Ricky Emerson, Sarah’s new husband…is he my father?”

Screenshot-2648 (3)

Henria nearly choked. “W-what? Why would you ask me that?”

“Well, I was talking to Kara the other-”

“Kara! I should have known! She was the one that started all this nonsense!”

“No mom! That’s not what I-”

“I thought I heard someone downstairs. Was Kara just here?”

When Evanglina doesn’t answer, Jake stepped forward. “You better answer her dammit!” he growled. His voice was slurred slightly.

Evanglina bit her lip. “Yes, but-”

“I thought we told you that you weren’t allowed any friends over! Jakes bellowed. “Wow! You think you can just do whatever you damn well please, don’t you?”

Screenshot-2649 (3)

“No I don’t!” Evanglina cried in frustration. “I didn’t invite her over! She just came over because she wanted to tell me that Sarah was having some test being run. Something with me and Ricky.”

“It’s a lie!” Henria snapped. “Sarah doesn’t know what she’s talking about! She’s crazy and making things up!”

I am now convinced that Henria is high. I actually think she has been for a while now. Jake has clearly started sharing his stash with her.

Evanglina frowned. “She is not crazy! She just has a hunch and she is following it! And I want to know!”

“No, you will not!” said Jake. “We won’t take part in Sarah’s nonsense.”

“It concerns me! I need to know!”

“You do not!”

“I do if he is my father!”

“He isn’t!” Henria shouted, but I don’t think she is even believable anymore.

“Look at what you’re doing!” Jake said, glaring at Evanglina. “You’re upsetting your mother! All for the stupid lie your slut aunt is telling. What an ungrateful waste of space!”

Screenshot-2652 (3)

After he says this, Evanglina stared at him for a moment in shock. “I can’t believe you said that.” She then looked at Henria. “Mom? Aren’t you going to say something?”

“She won’t,” Jake interrupted. “She knows the truth. How despicable you are. Selfish, disgusting little brat.”

Evanglina shook her head. “You know what? I can’t take this anymore! I have put up with all this long enough! I thought I could handle it until graduation, but I can’t! I have had it! I’m moving out!”

Screenshot-2653 (3)

Jake looked pleased. “Good riddance,” he started, but Henria on the other hand, didn’t seem to like the idea.

“Oh, you are, are you?” she asked. “And where exactly are you going to live? Shack up with your boyfriend?”

Jake scoffed. “Yah, and probably end up diseased or pregnant.”

Evanglina rolled her eyes. “No, I’m going to live with Auntie Sarah. And possibly…my father.”

“RICKY IS NOT YOUR FATHER!” Henria screamed. She was on the verge of being hysterical. “HE is not a part of our family! HE is with Sarah! Not us! So just let it go!”

“Never!” Evanglina screamed back. “I’m moving out right now and I am never, EVER coming back!”

“NO YOU ARE NOT!”

“YES I AM!”

Screenshot-2658 (3)

And like usual, just as Evanglina finished saying this, Jake stepped forward and backhanded her hard across the face. Only this time, even I could see that he left a mark. I then noticed that he was wearing some type of ring on his finger and it totally scraped her face during the hit. There was a long gash on Evanglina’s cheek and blood was starting to seep through. But Jake didn’t stop there. He slapped Evanglina several more times and when she fell, he began to kick her body roughly. I literally watched in horror as Jake beat Evanglina up and her mother just stood watching without lifting a finger to help her. Seriously! She just stood there watching like her mind was somewhere else. I was on the verge of calling the police, when Jake finally stopped.

Screenshot-2656 (3)

Evanglina slowly rose to her feet wobbling severely. Her eyes were wide in shock.

“I told you that you hadn’t seen anything yet,” Jake sneered. “And if you ever talk like that to your mother again, I can do much, much worse. Keep going and you might just not be able to use those legs for a while.”

Whoa. Whooooaaaa. Did Jake just threaten her?

Screenshot-2654 (3)

Evanglina’s eyes slowly filled up with tears. “I’m out of here!”  she said and tried to move toward the door, but Henria blocked her.

“No! I’m not going to let you run off to my b**** (censoring) of a sister! You are staying here!”

“I said I’m leaving!”

Evanglina then forced her way around her.

“I don’t think so,” Jake said, blocking Evanglina as well. “Personally, I don’t care what happens to you, but if Henria wants you to stay here, then you’re staying.”

Evanglina looked at him in disbelief. “You can’t force me to stay here! I am eighteen years old!”

Jake just smirked at her. “You want to bet?”

He then grabbed Evanglina by the arm and pulled her up the stairs. You could hear Evanglina’s screams and shouts as he dragged her up the staircase while yelling, “Shut up or I’ll give you something to shout about!” Then silence when her bedroom door closed loudly.

Now I have to say, I am left in a position of confusion. On one hand, I am just a blogger who reports what I see and remains out of the conflicts, but what if I see something that is serious? What then? Do I get involved and do something about it? Or do I watch for the situation to play out?

Well, for now, I will be keeping a close eye on the Marsens as I figure out how to approach this. Meanwhile, please feel free to forward this to anyone you think can help. Violence should never be tolerated, especially not from parents to children. And from the way things are going, Evanglina is going to need all the help she can get to get out of this situation.

Kisses,

Year 2: Post 26: The Morning After

Hey Queendalers! If you guessed “gummy bear,” you got it right! I thought I would do a fun code for this week. I cannot believe how fast the months have gone. In just a month, the seniors will be graduating! Time sure flies! Well onto the post!

Screenshot-1571 (3)

I am sure you are all wondering what happened with Evanglina and Derek after she went home with him prom night. Well, let me tell you, she didn’t leave until the next morning! Seriously! I spotted her hurrying out of Derek’s house the very next morning looking very rattled.

“My gosh, my mom is going to be furious!” she was saying.

“Hey, it was an accident,” said Derek. “We just kind of fell asleep.” I feel a bit disappointed that just like last year nothing exciting happened. Again, too many Fabio covered novels.

“I know,” said Evanglina, “but she won’t care. I told you, she has been kind of unpredictable lately.”

Screenshot-1572 (3)

Evanglina then pulled Derek to her and kissed him deeply. They stayed like that for a minute before she pulled away.

“I have to go. Tell your dad that I am sorry for this.”

Derek laughed. “Please, my dad won’t mind a bit. He knows we didn’t, you know, do anything.”

Screenshot-1575 (3)

“Still. Tell him, okay?”

After he agreed, Evanglina waved a final goodbye and then was off.

Screenshot-2501 (3)

I have never seen someone petal so fast to get home. It was like she flew and trust me, that dress did not hold her back one bit! She then jumped off the bike and hurried into her house.

Screenshot-2503 (3)

Unfortunately, Evanglina was not lucky enough to be able to sneak back in. Henria was waiting for her when she came in through the door. You could hear her voice even from outside.

“Are you out of your mind?” she shouted at her. “You just waltz in at eight ‘O clock in the morning and think it is okay?”

“No, I didn’t say-”

“You didn’t have to! It’s obvious what you were thinking! Where were you last night?”

“I was with Derek and-”

“Derek? You were with Derek?”

“Yes, but-”

“Are you telling me that you were alone all by yourself, no parents, with a boy last night?”

“No, I-”

“Oh my gosh!” Henria looked furious. “Oh my gosh!”

Screenshot-2504 (3)

“Mom! Listen to me!” Evanglina practically had to yell. “We had just come back from prom and Derek asked me back inside, so I-”

“So you went in with him?!” Henria looked incredulous. “How could you be so irresponsible! A child like you going over to sleep at boys’ houses in the night!”

Screenshot-2505 (3)

“Mom, I am not a child! I am eighteen years old!”

Henria’s eyes widened. “Oh really? So you think because of that you should be sleeping around with boys?”

“No mom! That’s not what I m-”

“What’s going on down here?”

Screenshot-2508 (3)

Just then Jake came down the stairs. He looked from Henria to Evanglina and frowned.

“What did she do this time?”

I’ve gotta say, you have to just love how he is always ready to lay it into Evanglina about something. Seriously.

“Evanglina, was gone all night and just came in a minute ago,” said Henria. “She then proceeded to tell me she spent all night with a boy, doing God knows what!”

Jake looked at Evanglina with disgust. “Starting a bit early don’t you think?”

Evanglina rolled her eyes. “If you would excuse me Jake, I was talking to my mother. Not you. You are not my father.”

Screenshot-2509 (3)

Jake gritted his teeth and then slapped Evanglina right across the face. “You ungrateful little twit!” He yelled. “After all I have done for you! Giving you a roof over your head? You think you can talk to me like that? You go around whoring yourself to men in the night and then come home and insult your mother?”

“I didn’t insult an-”

“Just shut up!”  Jake yelled. “Just shut the fu** up! I am sick of your attitude and your stupid excuses! You are never seeing that boy again! Do you hear me?! Now get the fu** upstairs! NOW!”

Screenshot-2515 (3)

Evanglina looked at her mother like she was waiting for her to say something, but she didn’t say a word. She just stood watching in silence. Evanglina then burst into tears and ran up to room, with Henria and Jake yelling up the stairs after her. Goodness, the things that poor girl has to deal with. It makes you wonder what is going on with Ricky and the results. He hadn’t been back in past week. Could it be that Sarah had been wrong? That Ricky wasn’t Evanglina’s father? I guess time will tell.

Screenshot-1260 (4)

In other news, I saw Paul and Brian Nelson downtown together later in the afternoon. They were taking a stroll along the sidewalk, something that I hadn’t ever really seen Paul and Brian do. But nearing them, I realized why. They were having quite a serious conversation.

“I am sorry about all of this,” Brian was saying. “I know this has been a lot for both you and your sister to take in, what with it being your last year of high school and with graduation and everything.”

Paul shrugged. “Yah, it has, but that’s life. I figured things were kind of headed in that direction by the way you and mom were acting. Still, I did hope you two could work through it.”

Brian sighed. “So did I. But sometimes there are just some things you can’t get past. Learn from my mistakes, son. You find someone you love and know is the one, do not squander it or take it for granted. You never know if you will get another chance.”

Paul was quiet, but then nodded slowly.

Screenshot-1261 (4)

Afterwards, their conversation became a bit more cheerful. Brian asked how school was going and Paul said it was going well. He also told him how thrilled he was of being accepted at Bridgeport University and Alfred State. He just couldn’t decide between the two.

“I say you should choose the school you feel more at home at,” said Brian. “I also think the academic selection and social life is also important.”

Paul agreed. He also pointed out how Kara was also accepted into Bridgeport University, something his dad stopped him at.

“Don’t go to a school just because of a girl, son. Make sure you are there because you really want to be there. If not and you two don’t stay together, the situation gets messy. Besides, Bridgeport University and Alfred State are only an hour from each other or less. Either way, you two will still be able to see each other.”

That Paul couldn’t argue with. Which gets me thinking. With all these couples still in high school, it is so easy, but when they all move to college settings, will they all be able to last?

Well, that’s it for this week. We are winding down to the final weeks of the year and you all are still up with your guessing of who I am. Good guesses and I think one of you might have figured it out…Also, I have noticed that more people are starting to follow my blog, funny, as it is coming to an end. It’s only a matter of time before it spreads to certain people…More soon!

Year 2: Post 25: A Night To Remember: Part 2

(Hey my readers! I’m sorry that I didn’t post anything last week. I had some dental work to take care of that kept me out for the rest of the week. But I am back, and please enjoy the next post of Kisses, Lexie! Please read, like and comment! Thank you! :))

Screenshot-2222 (3)

So just after the slow song ended, Ricky Emerson declared it was time to announce prom King and Queen. Slowly, he read the   nominees names off, starting with Claire and Angel, and then ending with Evanglina and Maria. The King finalists were Derek, Adam, Paul and Claude.

Screenshot-2124 (3)

After being handed the envelope containing the winners by Greg Jensen, he ripped it open and announced “Angel and Adam,” as Prom King and Queen!

Screenshot-2204 (3)

While Angel looked over joyed to be Prom Queen, everyone in the audience looked a bit shocked and confused. It was pretty obvious that barely anyone had voted for her. I could even see Greg Jensen in the corner looking very uncomfortable. I think he had quickly realized his mistake.

Still, Angel came onto the stage and took her crown along with Adam, but here is the biggest shock she received. While I’m sure Angel was expecting to get her long awaited slow dance with Adam, he rather suggested that they dance with a person of their choosing, someone “closest to their hearts”.

Screenshot-2172 (3)

Of course, Ricky had no objection to that, so Adam left the stage and pulled Maria into his arms. Although I feel like she wanted to protest, I think Maria was too blown away say a thing. I mean, Adam basically changed the traditions of prom just so he could dance with her! Besides, I don’t think she really wanted to see him and Angel dancing together anyway.

Screenshot-2093 (3)

Angel looked totally furious! She watched them dance, scowling for a while, before wandering over to the drink bar by the dancefloor. Claire, who was standing by the stage, went over to join her.

“So,” she said, “I know you made Greg Jensen rig the ballots.” (Ah ha! I told you all!)

Angel frowned. “What?”

“I know you rigged the ballot box. You were hoping that you could win Adam over in a dance, right? I’m sorry it didn’t work.”

Angel rolled her eyes. “What is it with him and Maria anyway? He’s like obsessed with her!”

“I don’t know,” Claire said, shaking her head. “He is really, really into her. I hate to say it, but I think he might just be in love with her.”

“Ugh! How can you say that?”

“Because I know him. He’s never been like this with any other girl. Even Charlotte couldn’t get him away from her. I’m telling you, the guy is in love with her. I hate it, but I am sick of trying to break them up.”

Screenshot-2092 (3)

Angel looked over at the dancefloor frowning, but then suddenly smiled. “I wonder if you would be saying the same thing if the roles were reversed.”

Claire took a sip from a ginger ale the bartender handed to her. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, have you seen Paul in a while? Because I see him dancing right now and he’s not alone.”

This caught Claire’s attention. She glanced around and spotted Paul and Kara toward the door dancing with each other.

“Kara,” she muttered slowly. She then put her drink down and walked right over.

Screenshot-2190 (3) 2

I could not help but move a little closer to the action.

“Now I know you feel a bit pathetic for coming without a date,” Claire was saying, “but that doesn’t mean you can steal someone else’s.”

“Claire,” Paul started, but Kara cut over him.

“I’m not stealing anyone else’s date,” Kara said, giving Claire a look of hatred. “Paul and I were just dancing.”

“Sure you were. I saw the look on your face, Kara, but just so you know, Paul isn’t interested in you. He will never will be interested in you. So I suggest you stop shamelessly throwing yourself at a guy that will never be yours.”

Kara’s jaw dropped. “Excuse me?”

“Wait Kara,” Paul interjected. “Claire please, we need to, um, talk.”

Claire side glanced at him and then looked back to Kara. “Wow…” Claire shook her head. “Are you seriously about to dump me for her?”

When Paul doesn’t answer, Claire just laughed. “Wow,” she says again, “this is actually happening. I am actually being dumped for some hoe bag slut.”

Kara scoffed. “I think you are mistaking me for you and Angel. How many guys have you two been with again? Or have you already lost count?”

Screenshot-2194 (3) 2

No sooner did Kara finish that sentence, when Claire suddenly pummeled her to the floor! People all around them had to quickly jump to the sides as they rolled along the floor. Claire was seriously trying to do some damage by strangling her, but Kara, I must say, did hold her own! I even heard a bit of chanting coming from the watching crowd. Paul did try and yell for Claire to get off Kara, but she was definitely not listening. I really think she wanted to kill her. No really! I think she did! You should have seen the look of pure hatred on her face. It was scary! Still, it was nice to see Kara letting Claire have it!

Screenshot-2206 (3)

That said, no deed goes unpunished. After a couple minutes, Ricky intervened and let Kara have it for getting in a fight. She apologized and explained the situation, but he was still very angry with her. You could see it on his face. She was lucky not to get kicked out!

Screenshot-2208 (3)

Claire, however, did get a harsher punishment. Because of initiating the fight, she was actually kicked out of the prom! I guess the principle wasn’t too happy about what happened. Not to mention he already was not that crazy about her in the first place. She looked pretty angry and glum as she walked out through the front doors, Angel following close behind. They both gave Kara a look of disgust. I think she had better watch her back!

Screenshot-2180 (3)

The rest of the night seemed to go a bit more smoothly. It was especially for Adam, until he made the mistake of kissing Maria as they were dancing. She moved back caught off guard, and asked him what he was doing and when he tried to kiss her again, she turned and walked right off the dance floor!

Screenshot-2155 (3)

He stood standing puzzled for a few minutes before following after her. I had wanted to follow along, but then I noticed Claude heading over to a certain red head. I had been watching him all night making eyes at Emilie and it seemed he had finally worked up the courage to approach her, something I did not want to miss!

Screenshot-2156 (3) 2

“Emilie,” he said, as he neared her.

Just as I thought they would, her eyes lit up when she saw him. “Claude,” she said quietly.

“I was wondering if I might talk to you for a minute,” he asked.

When Emilie nodded, he continued. “I wanted to apologize to you for the way I have treated you the past few months. I consider you a good friend, but I haven’t been acting like it. That was wrong of me, and I am terrible sorry about it.”

Emilie looked a bit surprised, but smiled. “It’s all right.”

Claude shook his head. “No, it isn’t. I was wrong and you have every right to be angry with me. That night at Angel’s party,” he sighed, “I really don’t know what happened. I guess I was just so thrown by your words that I didn’t react. I should have said something instead of just standing there like that.”

Emilie shrugged. “It was what it was. You were never supposed to hear that poem I wrote about you. I honestly don’t even know how Angel got a hold of it.” She then paused and shook her head. “But when it comes to her, I shouldn’t be surprised.”

Screenshot-2157 (3) 2

Claude grinned. “She can be quite vicious, that one.”

“You don’t even know the half of it. But, if she makes you happy, then I guess that’s good for you.”

Claude looked taken aback. “What?”

“You and Angel,” Emily frowns. “You two are together, right?”

Claude shook his head. “Heavens, no. Angel and I are just friends. I’m afraid she wanted more than that, but I couldn’t be that for her. Not when I have feelings for another.”

“Oh?” Emilie looked at him curiously. “Who?”

“That would be you and I was hoping if I haven’t blown it completely, you would honor me with a dance.”

Screenshot-2164 (3)

Emilie looked at him with a bit of hesitation, but finally she took his hand. “I suppose a dance wouldn’t hurt,” she said and then he whisked her onto the dancefloor. And though she might deny it, she looked extremely happy to be dancing with him. Extremely. And I was happy to see it.

Screenshot-2179 (3) 2

I wasn’t the only one. Surprisingly, I saw Charlotte off to the side doing a happy cheer when she saw Claude and Emilie start dancing. I am guessing she had given him a bit of a pep talk beforehand and was happy to see the end result. Maybe she wasn’t as bad as we all originally thought.

Screenshot-2101 (3)

So, if you were wondering what happened with Adam and Maria when she ran out, one of our readers has got us covered again! Our fellow reader happened to catch the exchange when Maria left the party center and Adam followed after her.

“Why did you do that?” Maria had been saying, “why did you have to kiss me?”

“Why do you think? Because I love you.”

“Would you please stop saying that!”

“But it’s true! I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t mean it! I love you Maria, and it is killing me not being with you!”

“Then why did you do it? If you love me so much, then why would you hurt me like this? Why did you cheat on me?”

Screenshot-2094 (3)

Adam is quiet for a moment before he answers. “Because I was an idiot. I was so caught up in what I wanted that I just wasn’t thinking. If I could take it back, I would do it in a second. You have to believe that.”

Screenshot-2098 (3)

Maria then sighed. “I do believe that,” she says quietly.

Adam took her hands into his. “Then please say you will look past this. Please say you will give me another chance.”

Maria then holds onto his hands a few seconds longer before letting go.

“I want to Adam. I really want to, but I just…can’t.”

She then turned and walked back through the double doors into the dance. I can’t help but weep for the pain the both of them or going through. Though I must admit that none of this would have happened if Adam hadn’t let himself get carried away with Charlotte. Ugh.

Screenshot-2177 (3)

The last hour of the dance went by very quickly. A lot of people started heading out, so soon the dance floor had thinned out. That didn’t stop Kara and Paul though. I saw them still on the dance floor grooving to the beat.

Screenshot-2227 (3)

Even Maria managed to have a bit of fun with everything that had happened earlier; dancing with Evanglina for a couple songs. They were so into their dancing that they missed an incredible moment right behind them, Emilie getting her first kiss!

Screenshot-2226 (3)

Please don’t ask me how I know it was her first. I just know *wink*wink*. Anyways, I just happened to see them doing so on the dancefloor just as Ricky announced that he would be playing the final prom song from the movie, called, “A Night To Remember.” Fitting. Anyways, luckily Emilie and Claude were so into each other that they didn’t notice this cute pic I snapped of them. Enjoy all!

Screenshot-2162 (3)

I also got this adorable picture of Derek and Evanglina as they were shuffling off the dancefloor together. They were both smiling and I heard something about her going back to his place. Now what did that mean? Where they going to make…magic? Only one way to find out!

Screenshot-2186 (3)

As I was leaving, I happened to hear a conversation between Maria and Josephina as they were dancing together. Just as I expected, Josephina informed Maria that after checking the correct ballots, she had found out that the real winners for prom were Evanglina and Derek! As Claire, had mentioned, Angel had bribed Greg Jensen to change the names.

Josephina was of course livid, because Greg had been her date, but Maria told her that she should forget about him.

“He wasn’t really that great of a guy anyway. Especially if he could still be running after Angel after all this.”

Josephina then agreed and they left the dancefloor as well, Juanita following close behind.

Screenshot-2099 (3)

As I was heading out the door, I happened to see Paul and Kara saying their goodbyes. It would seem that they seriously had had hidden feelings for each other. That said, I’m telling you, the way they were suddenly all over each other, you wouldn’t have guessed it.

Screenshot-2232 (3)

So, in his rented black stretch limo, Derek escorted Evanglina back to his house. It seemed like a slow ride, but before long it had pulled right in front of his driveway. Derek then helped Evanglina out of the car and walked her up the path to his front door.

Screenshot-1550 (3)

“You should come in,” he said her as they cuddled by the door.

Evanglina grinned. “I really want to, but I probably shouldn’t.”

“I think you should. Even just for a minute.”

Evanglina looked at him and then gave him a kiss. “Maybe just a minute.” She then followed him inside.

Screenshot-1561 (3)

And as I’m sure you guessed, a minute turned into several minutes and several minutes turned into thirty. So much so, that this blogger had to head off. Besides, they looked pretty cozy together on Derek’s sofa. Thought it would be kind to give them some privacy! I only hope she will get home before any problems arise from you know who!

Screenshot-2233 (3)

And on a final note for today’s post, I did see Emilie and Claude kissing goodnight by the entrance to her house. It was amazing how they went from just a dance to a massive lip-lock. Glad to see that they were able to work things out by the end of the night! Just wait until Angel sees them on Monday!

Well that is it for the official prom post! Two posts jam packed with gossip and drama! Kind of like the “All In” movie, huh? It’s a bit weird… Well more soon!

Kisses,
