Graduation day is coming next week! Stay tuned!
Hey Queendalers! Code word is “limo,” and thankfully a lot of you guessed it! And yes! The Night has finally arrived! Prom Night! Boy, do I have juice for you! It was a wonderful night filled with tension, drama, and romance, even all the way up to the morning after! I will fit as much as I can into this post. Here we go!
So It was a long week, only because people (mainly seniors) were anxiously waiting for the coming Saturday night. There was a lot of gossip about whom was going with whom and of course who Prom King and Queen would be. My guess, of course, was Angel or Claire and I’m pretty sure everyone figured it would be either one of them. Although, it also wouldn’t surprise me if Charlotte managed to snag it from both of them. Then again, Evanglina and Maria weren’t doing that badly either, something that both Claire and Angel seemed a bit miffed about this week. Aside from them, the runners up for King where Derek, Adam, Paul and Claude. My money was on Derek or Adam.
So after a long Saturday of pampering, the night was on! As I was heading over to the main event, I happened to catch a glimpse of Charlotte coming out of the Maxwell manor in her prom dress. It looked very chiche! I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a Paris original (sorry, I know nothing about fashion!)
I also saw Claude as well wearing a very neat tux. And may I say, he looked fine!
They both entered into a white cream colored limo sitting out front and then the car slowly pulled away from the curb. I suspected that Adam and Claire must have already been inside, because there is no way that they would be leaving without them.
My theory was right, for after the limo pulled up at the Queendale Event Center, both Adam and Claire emerged from the car behind Charlotte and Claude.
Everyone looked great! I saw Angel dressed in a revealing tight black dress (surprise, surprise) and behind her, Maria was wearing a beautiful red gown.
Josephina was even there wearing a to die for, purple cheetah print dress. Wondering why she made an appearance? Apparently, she had been taking advanced classes along with some college-level ones at the local community college, and because of this, she was graduating a year early! Now that is what I call an accomplishment! She may be quiet and shy, but the girl definitely has the brains!
So, the Prom’s Theme was “A Night To Remember,” based off the prom scene in the teen romantic flick, “All In.” It’s a teen comedy/drama/romance movie that came out a few years back, about a group of friends basically trying to figure out their feelings for each other. It’s similar to an old 90’s teen flick called, “Can’t Hardly Wait.” I must say, they really went all out! The upstairs room for dining was decked out in purple just like the movie! The chairs, the walls and even the tables had little glasses on them with cute mini party hats. Hats off to the decorating committee.
Well, after everyone arrived, they all headed up to the upstairs dining room. At Queendale High, it is a tradition for the Prom to first have a formal dinner right before. It’s very different from what other schools do, but the tradition seems to have stuck.
After being seated, everyone slowly made their way to the buffet lines and served themselves food from the tables. Everything smelled absolutely delicious!
The dinner for the most part seemed to go well, with everyone chatting with one another, and then to everyone’s surprise, it was announced that Maria would be preforming a song! Even I was stunned. Normally, I know everything that goes on in town, but this was something I wasn’t expecting.
Sure enough, Maria picked up her guitar and stepped on stage. She announced her song as “Life As We Knew,” and then began to play. I must say, her performance was amazing. She had the most beautiful singing voice as she strummed on her guitar. The whole audience sat quietly, in tune listening.
I even spotted Evanglina and Kara standing closer to the stage to egg her on. After she finished, she had a standing ovation from everyone. Way to go!
However, I think that no one was prouder of her than Juanita, who was at the dance chaperoning. She watched the whole performance looking in awe of her daughter. She even clapped the loudest when she was finished.
Marian and Brian were also there chaperoning and had a bit of an awkward run in with each other. They are still in the middle of figuring out the divorce, so I guess it is to be expected. Still, they both dealt with it very well, giving each other a polite “hello”, having small talk, and then being on their way. Angel watched the whole thing from the corner with an amused look on her face. I swear, everyone in town now knows about them. I guess I didn’t help with that, huh?
Afterwards, the real party began! Everyone headed down to the ballroom to check it out. The room was decorated with the same purple floral patterns as the upstairs dining room and even had a disco ball hanging from the ceiling, along with bubbles and other effects going! It was like a zoo of effects! Anything to be more realistic to the movie I suppose. Trust me, that scene in the movie (for those of you who haven’t seen it), was just as crazy as this. The movie even had a crazy parent chaperoning as DJ and calling out stupid catch phrases to the seniors.
It’s funny how right after I thought this, I looked over and saw Ricky Emerson behind the DJ booth playing some tracks. No I am totally serious! Ricky Emerson! And even he was trying out some phrases of his own. Sarah was standing nearby and just laughing. Glad to see that they were having fun, even if it was at everyone else’s expense. Yikes!
May I say that Evanglina Marsen looked fantastic in her baby pink dress! She came down the steps into the room gracefully just like a princess. If I could stuff the ballot box, I would say she would be the best choice for Prom queen. Honestly, I think there was a conspiracy behind who actually won, but I will get to that later.
So everyone seemed to be having a good time including Claire and Paul. Sure enough, just like Kara had said, he was grooving along with Claire to the beat from the DJ booth. Even so, I happen to notice he seemed a bit distracted. He couldn’t seem to stop staring at Kara. Lucky for him Claire didn’t seem to notice. Well, not at first.
Evanglina and Derek of course looked wonderful together. I spotted them dancing together in a quiet corner, not that it was that private. I happened to notice many people smiling and whispering about them the whole night. From what I could see, they were definitely the cutest couple on the dance floor! They seriously had my vote for Prom King and Queen. Well, them and Maria and Adam.
Emilie on the other hand, was a bit of a wallflower. She remained mostly toward the sidelines just watching as everyone else danced. I happened to notice her standing with Maria for a while, but then when Adam came in with Charlotte, Maria seemed to disappear into the crowd. Who can blame her? I don’t know what possessed Adam to come to Prom with her, but he definitely had some explaining to do!
Kara, however, seemed to be making the night work for her. She was on the dance floor dancing on her own, while avoiding Paul, something he was surely taking notice of.
But Maria’s dinner performance was not the only one that night! After an hour, Ricky announced that Maria and Evanglina would be preforming a song for the class! Truthfully, there have been some rumors that the two of them were starting a band together, but I was unsure of the truth behind it. Seeing them on stage jamming together however, was perfect confirmation. They performed a song call “Always Remember,” and it was quite good! They may have a future of playing music together!
Everyone seemed really engaged with their song; they were all dancing, screaming and cheering them on. I noticed Paul and Emilie standing up toward the front and they both seemed to enjoy it as well. By the time the song ended, there was full applause.
Afterwards, Evanglina seemed to take a bit of a break from Derek and dance with the girls. I got a nice pic of her dancing it up with Maria. I don’t know if I have already said this, but they both looked amazing in their ballgowns! I mean it! I was loving the light red of Maria’s dress with the black bodice sequins. Amazing!
But no sooner had they started dancing, when Adam suddenly appeared at Maria’s side. He had been watching her from the sidelines with Charlotte all night and I guess took his opening to dance with her. However, Maria was not having it.
“Adam, I can’t,” she said when he asked her.
“You know why, Adam.”
Adam sighed. “Okay, you’re right. But come on. It’s one dance, at the last dance we will ever have in high school. Could you at least give me that?”
“You sure you don’t want to dance with Charlotte?”
“Maria,” Adam looked a little frustrated, “I am only here with Charlotte because we both didn’t have anyone else to come with. We aren’t here as a couple, just as friends. Now please, dance with me.”
I’m shocked, but this actually works! Maria takes a long look at him, and then finally agrees. They then move onto the dancefloor and begin to slow dance together. Even though Maria was reluctant, I can totally tell that she is extremely happy to be dancing with him. I won’t even say anything about Adam, because I am pretty sure you can already guess how happy he was.
While they seemed to be content with each other, some other guests were not. I overheard Emilie speaking with Evanglina about Claude once again. Apparently, seeing him with Angel (Yes! They came together!) was a bit much for her to take.
“I mean, I knew he didn’t feel the same way as me,” she was saying, “And I know there was that thing between him and Angel, but I guess I just…I don’t know.”
Evanglina smiled. “It still hurts to see them together?”
Emilie sighed. “I hate to admit it, but yes. It kind of does.”
Evanglina gave her a hug. “I’m sorry.”
“Hey, it is what it is. I’ll get over it. Not soon enough though.”
What a good sport. I don’t know how reasonable I would be about this situation.
Too bad she couldn’t have heard the conversation between Claude and Angel going on outside. The two of them were definitely not as happy as Emilie thought they were. One of our amazing readers, overheard Claude telling Angel that he wanted to speak with Emilie and Angel was not happy about it.
“Why would you want to waste your time with her? She’s a nobody.”
“Angel, I told you not to talk about her like that.”
“Why do you care? It’s not like you even like her or anything.” She then gave him a look. “Do you?”
Claude cleared his throat. “My feelings toward Emilie don’t concern you.”
“The hell it doesn’t!” Angel snapped. “I’m your date! You shouldn’t be talking to anyone but me, let alone that freak!”
“Angel, Emilie is not a freak, and I think you are a bit mistaken. You and I agreed to come as just companions. Nothing more.”
Angel looked like she was going to explode after he said that. “Excuse me? Companions? Are you saying we just came as friends?”
Claude nodded. “Yes. I never said we would be anything but. If you got the wrong idea, I apologize, but I never said this was romantic.”
“So you are telling me that when you asked me to “accompany” you to the prom, you didn’t mean as your date?”
“No, I did not. I meant as a friend. I recall you mentioning something about how you couldn’t go to prom by yourself, so I asked if you would like someone to accompany you so you wouldn’t be alone. Truthfully, I was not going to come at all, but I felt for your situation.”
Angel apparently just stared at him like she wanted to punch him in the face.
“How dare you pity me! I am Angel Richmond! I can get any date I want! In fact, I had other offers, I was just being nice since you asked!”
Now I know for a fact that that isn’t true at all, but whatever floats her boat!
Claude however looked amused. “Then why didn’t you say that? You made yourself seem very desperate.”
Angel didn’t seem to like that comment one bit. “Fu** (censoring) you Claude! I am not desperate! And if you love your little Emilie so much, just go find her then! See if I care!”
And with that she turned and stomped off. If only I could have seen that exchange! That is too juicy for words! For once a guy puts Angel in her place! Thank you to our fellow reader for the info!
Meanwhile, back in the prom, Evanglina and Emilie were seriously grooving to the beat! They were doing some pretty fun moves that even people started to copy them! I was a bit surprised to see Emilie so energetic. She is normally so in her shell. Well I guess people can surprise you.
An hour later, it was getting time to announce Prom King and Queen. Now here is where what I said much earlier comes in. Junior Greg Jensen was in charge of counting ballots, but there was a bit of a problem. He had a huge and I mean HUGE crush on Angel, and this was something she knew about. Around the time the final votes were cast in, I caught Angel speaking to him, very flirtatiously. Josephina, who was also hanging around the ballot table (it seemed she and Greg might have come together), noticed as well. She then tried to accuse Angel of trying to change the votes, but it didn’t seem to go very well.
In the end, Angel walked off triumphantly as Josephina stood staring after her in anger. Her plan to somehow change the votes, seemed to being going according to her plan. Also, Josephina’s date seemed to crash and burn right there. What a total witch.
That said, it seemed that she was not the only one losing the attention of her date. When Claire left to speak to Angel (probably about the whole ballot scam), Paul finally made his way through the crowd to Kara. She was dancing with Evanglina to one of Paula Deana’s singles, “Hot Mess.” Kara tried to move away, but not fast enough. Paul then pulled her aside to talk.
“You can’t keep avoiding me,” I heard him say as I neared them. “We need to talk about…about what you…said.”
Kara’s cheeks turned pink and she looked totally uncomfortable. “Paul, please. I am so embarrassed that I said that to you. I’m trying to forget it.”
Amazingly, Paul actually looked a bit hurt. “So, did you not mean it?”
Kara exhaled deeply. “Paul, does it even matter?” she asked.
“It does to me,” he said.
Kara looked confused. “Why?”
“Because I-I can’t seem to get what you said out of my head, and I…I think it’s because I feel the same way.”
That seemed to shut Kara up. Her eyes lit up and she smiled at him. “You do?”
Paul nodded and then stretched a hand out to her. “Dance with me.”
Kara then took his hand and followed him onto the dance floor. I have to say, it’s the happiest I have seen her in months. She looked over the moon. However, I didn’t think Claire would be too happy about it when she saw them.
Well, I think this is where I should leave off. Don’t worry my dears, I shall not be long. Stay tuned for my continued post about the excitement of prom night. As a treat, the code word will be the same as before!
Hey Queendalers! If you guessed “stereo” you got it! Just in time for the party post! It was an interesting night and you will not believe the stunt that Angel pulled…
So by the time I slipped in, the party was in full swing. Music was blaring, people were dancing around, and some standing and chatting. Well, most standing and chatting.
Angel was doing her best to get her flirt on with Adam. I know, that girl never gives up. She brought him a drink (no not spiked) and tried to get him into a conversation about prom. I mean, what? Is the girl stupid? It’s obvious that he is going to say he wants to take Maria! And also, isn’t Angel supposed to be back with Paul again? I’m telling you, this girl is all over the place!
I wasn’t too surprised to see Claire there since I figured she would crash the party, but I was surprised to see Kara. But then again, it was Evanglina they hated not her, soooo, maybe Angel didn’t mind?
Kara didn’t stay very long though. I noticed her trying to get closer to Paul who was chatting with Charlotte.
But when Paul said something to Charlotte about asking Angel to the Prom, Kara just stopped. She then seemed to disappear over the course of the night. Now that is a hard thing to deal with. No one wants to find out the guy they have been crushing on, wants someone else.
Speaking of Evanglina, I saw her slip in at the last minute. She then tiptoed up the stairs to the third floor. Curious, I hurried after her to see what she was up to.
There on the deck of the third floor, Derek had light up a disco ball light and turned on the radio to a station playing soft music for them to dance to. He then pulled Evanglina to him and then they slowed danced to the beat. Ugh! Derek and his rom-com behavior. It almost makes me want to slap him. No men like this exist anymore! All we’ve got is chauvinistic pigs! (Sorry, rant over)
Speaking of which, that brings me to what happened. So Claude had showed up and also invited Emilie, something Angel was furious about. He and Emilie were busy chatting it up, when Angel, wearing a big grin, walked up and interrupted. She then proceeded to tell Emilie that she was not wanted there because she didn’t allow obsessive stalkers at her party.
Emilie did not take very kindly to this.
“What are you talking about Angel?” She said. “Sometimes I think you just make this stuff up.”
“Oh, I can assure you it is not made up. I have it right from the source. Stalker.”
“Angel, knock it off!”
“Why? Scared everyone will know your little secret? You’re not as innocent as you want everyone to think.”
Angel, what are you-”
“Do you remember when you and Claude were studying at the library? Well, you were in such a hurry to take your slutty self off with Claude that you left behind something crucial. Your mini notepad.”
Angel smirked. “You know, the little one you keep all your Claude love poems in?”
Ah! I had a feeling that notepad would come into play eventually.
Now, for the first time, Emilie starts to look nervous. Really nervous. “W-what?” she says.
“Yah, I’ll bet you’ve been wondering where it is. Well, it is right here in my pocket. Shall I?”
She then starts reading all off Emilie’s poems, and I mean ALL OF THEM.
She reads each one in an extremely mocking tone and soon everyone at the party is listening and laughing.
“Your eyes are as blue as the clear blue sky and your skin as tan as the sandy beaches. Your smile fills my body with warmth, your voice tickles me down to the inners of my soul.”
Emilie’s cheeks are reddening and Claire, who is standing just behind Angel, is snickering pretty loud.
“If only I could feel the strength of your arms around me, the softness of your lips on mine. The warmth of your breath upon my neck-”
Before Angel can finish, Emilie finally snatched the notepad from her.
“How dare you!” she yelled in anger.
Angel glared at her. “I told you to back off, but you tested me. Mess with fire, you get burned.”
Emilie was silent. She took one look at Angel and everyone else around the room, and then she rushed out the door. Claude just stood there staring after her not saying anything at all (little wimp!).
Ugh! That girl is pure evil. Someone really needs to put her and Claire in their places.
Speaking of places, I spotted Adam at Maria’s house on my way from the party. He was knocking on the door and pleading for her to open it. I got to say, he is lucky her parents didn’t seem to be home. They probably would have asked him what the hell he was doing. Anyways, he knocked on the door and waited for twenty minutes before he finally gave up and left. I hope this isn’t going to become a daily thing. I realize he wants to repair things, but really! He needs to give her some time. It was only a few weeks ago! Goodness! It almost makes you wish the Beaumount twins never came. All they have really done is give Angel and Claire low self-esteem (okay, that’s not so bad) and cause choas. Not trying to hate, just an observation. I guess we will see how things turn out in the coming months!
(Code Clue: It dangles from a gold chain around my neck, in it an image of family will always be kept)
Hey! Queendalers! I’m impressed that you guessed my code for this week: wedding ring. I thought it would fit the big occasion of this weekend, Sarah and Ricky’s wedding! But that’s not all! Claire’s party was just this Saturday as well! Well let me get too it!
So Saturday night was the night of Claire’s house party! Apparently, David and Erica had gone out of town for a weekend getaway, giving Adam and Claire the freedom to have an awesome bash! Well, awesome if you love drama.
The party was pretty exclusive, but that didn’t stop Lexie from slipping in! Inside everyone seemed to be having a good time. The music was blaring and people were dancing from left to right.
What caught my eye, was Adam grooving with Charlotte in the center of the room. They seemed to be having a good time and dancing pretty close. Now it may just be me, but they were dancing a bit too close for just friends. Clearly something was going on…
Something that Angel was not too thrilled about. I saw her standing toward the door with her eyes glued to them. If looks could kill…
Adam and Charlotte weren’t the only ones seeming to be getting cozy. Over buy the fireplace, I saw Claire flirting up a storm with Claude. I swear, that guy has every girl in school pinning for him.
Anyways, Claire seemed to be happy chatting away with Claude, when who should walk through the door, but Emilie! I know! I don’t know how she made it through the door either!
And then the funniest thing happened. Claude excused himself from Claire and then went over to Emilie! Claire looked like she was going to freak! I don’t think she has ever allowed anyone she deemed unfit, to ever come to her parties. So what was Emilie doing here?
“What the hell is Emilie doing here?” Claire called over to Angel.
Angel shrugged. “Beats me, you invited everyone.”
“Yah, but not that looser!” Claire then rolled her eyes. “Ugh, Claude. I’ll bet he invited her. He won’t stop talking about her and how much fun she is.”
Angel snickered. “Emilie? Fun? Is he kidding?”
Claire smirks. “No. I think he’s hit his head or something. We seriously have to do something about them.”
Angel laughs. “Don’t worry. I’ve already got something in mind,” she says, and then they both walk off, leaving me to wonder exactly what that “something” was.
Another person I was surprised to see at the party was Kara. She said she had just dropped by to tell Adam that Maria would not be coming, but I think there was more to it. I think she wanted to accompany Emilie and keep an eye on Adam. Good thing too, because things were going to get a lot worse with Charlotte.
Even with their skink faces, Angel and Claire still seemed to have some fun dancing together, especially when Paul Nelson came in and joined them. I’m pretty sure that is another reason why they didn’t try to kick Emilie out. Not while Paul was standing right there. He would have been furious.
Okay, okay, let me skip to the good part. So after an hour, the room started to heat up from all the people dancing, so Charlotte left to get a drink from Claire’s bar out back. When I saw Claire go after her, I knew I had to follow. And sure enough, I was right on the money.
“Hey Char, you getting tired already?” Claire said with a smirk.
Charlotte shook her head. “No, just grabbing a drink. It’s pretty hot in there.”
Claire chuckled. “I’ll say. You and Adam seemed to be having quite a bit of fun together.”
Charlotte giggled and then tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. “You noticed?”
“I think everyone did. What’s going on with you two?”
Charlotte shrugs. “Well, nothing yet. He keeps sending me mixed signals. He acts like he wants me and then he just pulls away. Probably because he’s dating that one girl.” (Uh, she has a name, Charlotte.)
“Oh, Maria?” Claire scoffs. “Forget her. She’s a loser. I say you should go for it.”
“Really?” Charlotte looks surprised. “You want me to go after your brother?”
“Hey, I don’t care. Anyone is better than that Henderson girl, especially you. I give you my blessing.”
Charlotte laughs. “Wow.”
“And better yet, I know a way you can get to him.”
Charlotte looks curious. “How’s that?”
“Well, this is going to sound weird, but,” Claire leans closer, “I happen to know he is a bit annoyed by Maria right now because she won’t, well, “put out.’”
Charlotte laughs. “Really?”
“Yup. So he’s a bit “frustrated” with her, if you know what I mean. If you use that to your advantage, you just might win him over.”
Then Charlotte does something that shocks me. She actually looks hesitant.
“I don’t know,” she says slowly.
Claire just shrugs. “Hey, it’s just a little friendly tip. The rest is up to you.” And with that she walks off.
I’m telling you, Claire and Angel could both win awards for master manipulation. Now what I am sure that you all are curious to know, is if Charlotte would go through with it, and if Adam would too.
Well, five minutes later, Charlotte was back in the family room chatting it up with Adam. I happened to hear some of their conversation as I walked by,
“So, I heard your dad say that your birthday is in just a week,” Charlotte was saying. (Oh yah, I totally forgot about that!)
Adam nodded. “It’s true. I will finally be eighteen.”
Charlotte grins. “Well, I was thinking I could give you an early birthday present. Meet me in the washroom in five?”
Adam looks hesitant, but Charlotte smiles. “ Trust me, it’ll be worth it.” She then walks out through the door of the living room.
And sure enough, she does head straight for the downstairs bathroom! Now I’m on pins and needles waiting to see if Adam will go after her, and guess what? He does!
And to make matters worse, I spot Maria sudden make an appearance through the front door! What the heck was she doing here? Wasn’t the whole reason for Kara attending because Maria wasn’t?
Well, while Maria wandered into the family room, I decided to check on the birthday boy in the bathroom, and guess what I saw? Adam totally making out with a half-naked Charlotte! So I guess she took Claire’s advice, and boy was she right! You wouldn’t be able to even tell that Adam was dating anyone else from the way he had his tongue shoved down Charlotte’s throat and pawing at her like a lion! Horny much?
Then as if on cue, I heard Maria calling Adam’s name into the hallway.
A moment later, Claire emerged and said, “I think I saw him go into the bathroom with Charlotte.” What a b****.
Maria frowned. “Knock it off Claire, where is he?”
Claire just shrugged. “You don’t believe me, check for yourself.”
I almost wished I could stop her from going in, but alas, Lexie cannot interfere. Hurrying over to the bathroom, Maria then pushed open the door and went inside.
She seemed to just stand there after she opened the door. She just stood there staring at Adam and Charlotte in silence. It takes almost a minute before she makes any kind of response.
“Oh my gosh,” she then says, and keeps repeating it over and over. She then turns and slams the door behind her.
That finally seems to catch Adam’s attention and he runs after her.
“Wait! Wait! Maria! Let me explain-”
“Why bother!” Maria snaps. “I have eyes! I think I saw enough!”
“I know what you’re thinking, but it’s not like-”
“Like what?” Maria interrupts. “Are you honestly going to deny that you weren’t practically screwing Charlotte in the bathroom?”
I wasn’t screwing Charlotte! It was just a kiss!”
Ha! The boy is totally delusional.
“A kiss?” Maria shrieks. “You call that just a kiss? Adam, she was in her bra and underwear!”
Adam exhales deeply. “I know! I know! But we weren’t doing what you think-”
“Can you honestly tell me that if I didn’t walk in when I did, you wouldn’t have?” Ah, she’s got him there.
When he doesn’t respond, Maria nods her head.
“That’s what I thought.” She then steps back. “Why would you do this to me? Is this just because I told you I wasn’t ready to have sex?” She then gets quiet seeming to realize she just answered her own question. “It is, isn’t it? Wow. So just because I told you I wasn’t ready, you were going to just go out and sleep with someone else? Wow.”
“It wasn’t like that,” Adam protests, but Maria cuts him off.
“The hell it wasn’t! I can’t believe I trusted you! I thought you loved me!”
Adam frowns. “I do love you!”
“If you loved me, you wouldn’t have done this!”
Adam exhales again. “Maria, listen. I didn’t do this to hurt you! Honestly, I don’t know what happened. I was just with Charlotte, and one thing led to another. It wasn’t intentional! I swear! It won’t ever happen again.”
Maria shakes her head. “I don’t care if it does. You can do whatever you want with Charlotte, because you and I are over.”
She then turns and runs out of the house, with Adam yelling after her. He tries to follow her, but he gives up when she gets past the stairs and reaches her car. I can’t believe all that has happened, and I am totally in mourning over one of my favorite couples!
There is one thing that cheers me up a little. The fight between Claire and Angel right after Maria and Adam ran out. Apparently, Angel saw the whole commotion and wanted to know what was going on. Claire then filled her in about what Adam was doing in the bathroom with Charlotte and how she had pushed Charlotte to do it. Angel wasn’t too happy to hear that.
“Wait, you told Charlotte to go after Adam?”
Claire shrugs. “Yah. It was clear that they liked each other from all the flirting, so I thought why not.”
“But you know that I like him, Claire. So why would you try to hook him up with someone else, especially Charlotte? What about our goal? You know, you with Derek and me with Adam?”
“Oh, that’s rich coming from you,” Claire remarks. “Aren’t you the one that was trying to break up Derek and Evanglina by hooking up Charlotte with him? You didn’t seem to care about how I felt about him. Wasn’t it you who said, “I’m sorry, it was just business? Well, the same goes here.”
Angel’s jaw drops. “So what? Is this payback?”
“Sucks, doesn’t it?”
Angel grits her teeth. “You little b****!”
Claire glares at Angel. “Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”
“You can let yourself out,” Claire snaps and she heads off down the hall.
“You better watch your back,” Angel mutters, but loud enough for Claire to hear.
She laughs. “Same to you.”
Yikes! I wouldn’t want to be in the middle of that! Though I must say, it is amusing to see them fighting over men they both don’t have. Pathetic! Well, tune in next week for the wedding post! I can’t wait to share!
Hey Queendalers! Summer is almost upon us! Just a few more weeks and we can say goodbye to schoolwork and tests, and hello to the beach, swimming and fun! And some people have gotten a bit of head start on that…
Maria Henderson threw an awesome party while her parents were out. I even spotted Angel heading into Maria’s house, though I am pretty sure she came because Adam was going to be there. Go figure.
Not that Adam paid any attention to her. He was having too much fun with Maria to notice. Maria’s little sister Josephina was even there, though a bit focused on writing in her notebook. Really? Homework at a party? The girl has got to get out more.
Evanglina and Derek showed up a little later, sneaking in through the back. I feel that it might have had something to do with Angel’s appearance. Since the night Evanglina had dinner at the Richmond’s, apparently Henrietta had been giving Derek a hard time about dating Evanglina. It probably didn’t help that Angel kept feeding her lies. Ugh.
But that didn’t stop them from spending time together at the party. I caught them hiding out in Maria’s storage room making out. They are slowly becoming Queendale’s own Romeo and Juliet.
Other than that, everyone seemed to be having a good time. Maria was really strict about what was allowed in (mainly not alcohol) for she didn’t want her party to end up the way Evanglina’s did. Even without the sneaked in beers, everyone seemed to be having fun. I caught Josephina and Augusta grooving to some awesome tunes, not to mention the glow lights someone placed around the room, giving it a magenta glow.
Even Emilie looked like she was having fun. For someone who was going through a lot, she seemed to be having a blast dancing with Robbie Platt. Robbie again! That guy was probably going to be voted most random guest.
Meanwhile Adam and Maria were having a little private party in the kitchen. Looks like they are back on track too! I’m sure Angel wants to claw her eyes out. With everything she and Claire have done to break them up, they are still stronger than ever!
For the most part, the party went well. There was no drama, fights, break ups or anything. It was really a drama-free party.
That is until the front doors opened and in came Juanita and Fredrick! I swear, everyone at the party froze like in the movies. Even Maria looked stunned. Her parents weren’t supposed to be back until Sunday, and it was only Friday night. Things were not going to end well.
As Juanita yelled at Maria in Spanish at the top of her lungs, everyone at the party scattered. I sure don’t want to be her! She looked terrified and who can blame her? Juanita is pretty scary when she is mad.
Strange enough, I spotted Jake going though someone’s trash can later that night. It was an odd sight, especially the way Jake kept looking over his shoulder. It was clear that he was up to something. He pulled a few files from the trash and then took off down the sidewalk. Now what was he doing looking for files in someone’s garbage? I guess we will have to wait and see.
In other news, Sarah finally broke the engagement news to Evanglina. After the wedding, she and Kara would be moving with Ricky. While Evanglina looked happy for her, there seemed to be a little bit of sadness in her eyes. I’m starting to think that she views Sarah as more of a mom than her own mother! More soon!
So, word around the street is that Evanglina Marsen threw a party while her mother, Jake and Sarah were out of town (Sarah had gone away with Ricky secretively)! Okay, well, it was supposed to be a gathering, but you know that once you start inviting people, they tell other people and they tell more people. Pretty soon, a simple gathering becomes an awesome party! Well, as great as it can be. And you can be sure this blogger was able to sneak in and get some dirt for you!
I honestly think Evanglina was a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing. She seemed a bit out of place as people started coming in. She looked relieved when she spotted Adam come in. He was supposed to have come with Maria, but apparently, she was still a little put off by the video of her circling around, to make a public appearance.
But you could totally tell that her party was for everyone. Evanglina let everyone including, people Angel or Claire wouldn’t dream of letting into a party. I spotted junior Robbie Platt from the chess club, dancing with sophomore, Abigail Best. Weird pairing, but hey, they seemed to be having a good time.
The person who surprised me the most by showing up was Emilie. She never went to any parties! And while I know she is friends with Evanglina, she still knew it was a party before she came in. But yet, here she was. She looked a bit out of place, but after standing by herself for a while, she moved toward the stereo area and started to dance.
It was a while before I spotted Derek Richmond come in. He and Augusta Wood, took a break from the party to munch on some food from Evanglina’s fridge. In the background things were getting pretty rowdy and even Evanglina was getting a little overwhelmed.
After he finished eating, Derek whisked Evanglina into an abandoned corner and they started to dance. For once since the party started, I saw a smile on Evanglina’s face.
Kara on the other hand seemed in the zone. She danced with mostly everyone that night, including Adam. If he wasn’t so into Maria, I would say that she might have some competition. They definitely were grooving together quite nicely!
At some point, Evanglina and Derek disappeared from the room and I couldn’t help but wonder where they had disappeared too. Still the party raged on and it wasn’t until I passed by the bathroom and heard some hushed whispers and laughing that I realized that they were in there. Apparently, the noise from the party was too much for them. Well I can’t blame them. Someone did turn up the dial on the radio.
I happened to get a pick of them through the door though, without them noticing. Seems like things were getting really steamy up in there. *insert sizzling sound affect here*
Then who should make an appearance at the party, but Angel Richmond! What was she doing at a party like this?
I got my answer soon later when I saw her lurking around the bathroom. She pressed her ear to the door listening and then suddenly opened the door a crack, lifting her phone to snap a photo. What could she want with a photo of Derek and Evanglina making out?
Suddenly, Angel is whipped back around, and you won’t believe who did it.
“Delete it Angel,” says Emilie.
Angel looks at her in disgust. “Don’t tell me what to do. It’s none of your business.”
“Neither is it yours,” Emilie snaps. “Now delete it.”
Angel scoffs. “Why do you care? It’s just a picture.”
“Because I know nothing good can come of you using it. Now delete it Angel.”
I am so stunned by what’s happening. Was Emilie really standing up to Angel? I can see her hands are shaking, but she wasn’t backing down.
Angel smirks. “Make me.”
Before Angel can react, Emilie snatches her phone out from her hand and tosses it into the nearest glass of liquid. Angel’s jaw drops, as does mine. Emilie was going to get it, and boy does she.
“You bitch!” Angel screams, and she tackles Emilie to the ground. Everyone moves out of the way, as they roll along the floor. There is so much commotion that even Derek and Evanglina come running out of the bathroom. Angel has Emilie by the hair and pulling with all her might. It is quite a sight. Emilie is shrieking as she tries to push Angel off, and Angel looks like she wants to kill her. Finally, Paul appears out of nowhere and is able to pull them apart.
“You are going to pay for that,” Angel says as she retrieves her phone from the soda-filled cup. “Watch your back!”
Emilie has a bruise under her eye, but she says nothing as Angel storms off. I still can’t believe that Emilie got into a fight with Angel. Just wait until the break is over. This is going to be the talk of Queendale high! I am a bit worried for Emilie though. Angel will most likely make good on her threat to her. Still, what could have made Emilie behave that way?
Things wind down after the fight. People start heading out the door including Emilie and Paul. Kara catches up with him before he leaves and they chat for a bit. They seem pretty chummy which makes me wonder if they have hung out before. Kara agrees to meet up with him sometime that week for a movie, which makes me think they definitely have. I had originally thought he was dating Abigail Best, but I overheard her friends Josephina and Augusta say that they might be breaking up. It seemed that Paul had been acting differently lately and Abigail was having problems dealing with it. Well if only she knew the truth, for I’m pretty sure his father’s infidelity has something to do with it.
A couple hours later, we get a tip that someone called the cops, so, everyone scatters. Whether Angel wants to admit it or not, Evanglina threw a good party, one I’m sure people are going to be talking about for a while.
Lastly, on my way home, I spotted David Maxwell working out at the gym. On his way out, he pulled out his phone to answer a call, and then stopped in his tracks. His face went from calm to serious in a manner of seconds. I couldn’t help but eavesdrop on the conversation…
“Are you sure?” he was saying, and then sighed. “All right. I want you to keep an eye on her. If you find out anything more about this, you report directly to me. Got it? Good.” He then hung up the phone and headed out the gym doors. Clearly, he was talking about Erica. But what was he referring to? Did he know the truth about Erica’s affair? Or could it be something else? I’ll keep you posted!
Hey my Queendale readers! So sorry about waiting a whole week to continue. Got to love the suspense though right?
So as I was saying, Evnaglina made her appearance and it was like everything stopped. I’ll bet she could even sense the tension. The poor girl was so confused that she walked right past Derek without even noticing him. Not that it mattered. As soon as Derek spotted her, he called her over without even a second thought about Claire.
He then turned his attention away from Claire and spent the rest of the night talking and dancing with Evanglina. Claire was livid. If looks could kill, Evanglina would no longer be with us.
Claire spent the rest of the night standing by Angel with her eyes glued to Evanglina and Derek. From the looks of it, she seemed to be planning something devious. Meanwhile, Angel was doing all she could to catch Adam’s attention. He seemed very distracted though, still scanning the room and staring at the entrance. Clearly, the guest he was expecting still had not shown up.
At one point he pulled Evanglina aside, and that is when I learned who he was looking for, Maria. Evanglina apologized and told him that Maria had said that she couldn’t make it for she was sick. I have an inkling that Maria was lying, for I saw her just yesterday playing her guitar while dancing in her backyard. No surprise she would lie though. Who wants to spend the evening dealing with Claire and Angel?
Emilie’s brother Paul did make an appearance, but after seeing Angel all over Adam, he turned and left. I’m serious. He just took one look at her, and then walked back out the door. I don’t think Angel even knew he had been there. Something tells me he is finally starting to realize that she is using him to make Adam jealous. Not that Adam has noticed. Still, I’ll bet Paul and Angel will be over by the end of the weekend.
Brian Nelson did show up an hour to midnight. Marian was with him at first, but after some arguing she left early. I am surprised, but it would seem that in just a week after Christmas, there seems to be problems brewing between them.
Shocking but ten minutes to midnight, Evanglina heads out the door for home with Derek’s arm around her. I’ll bet she wants to get home before her mother and Jake start something. That was not something Claire wanted to see. After they left, she started downing drinks from the bar like crazy. Even the bartender had to cut her off.
She then jumped onto the bar counter and started dancing to the blaring music. It was a hilarious sight, but by that time people were too busy with each other to notice. I did happen to see David get her down later though. He was furious with her behavior and hauled her out the door for home. Guess he won’t be able to kiss Erica when the clock hits midnight.
Not that I think he cared. I heard from a source that things seem to be going south for them as well. He apparently has caught onto some of her shady dealings and he is not happy about it. But that didn’t seem to bother her. Before the clock hit midnight, she acquainted herself with…Brian Nelson! I couldn’t believe it. She gave him a drink and the two of them started talking up a storm. It wasn’t long before I spotted them sharing a dance in a far off corner.
As the clock struck midnight, they shared a passionate kiss, smiling at her other after. I could not believe my eyes. Brian Nelson, husband of Marian, and father of Paul and Emilie, was kissing another woman and of all women, Erica Maxwell! Lucky for him, no one else seemed to have noticed them, but they were probably too drunk to tell. Moving closer to them, I heard Erica whisper,
“Room 204 is already booked and ready to go,” and then with a giddy smile, Erica took his hand and led him out of the ballroom. I could not believe my eyes. I guess Henrietta and Erica have a lot in common. They can’t seem to stick to their own husbands. This blogger is horrified and disgusted, but as always, I will keep you posted.
I left after seeming that horrid sight and headed home. On my way, I spotted someone I didn’t expect to see, making their way up to the Henderson’s front door. Adam?
Adam knocked a few times and a minute later Maria emerged. She looked very guilty and totally not sick. She immediately launched into 1000 apologizes, but he stopped her. He told her that he understood her feeling uncomfortable and that he should have never pressured her to come to the gala in the first place. They then shared a hug and she invited him inside. Well at least something ended well that night. Happy New Year’s everyone! More next year!
